Jillie, she can't take any under one as she already has a baby of her own or at least that's how I understand it!

And I now have a washing machine!

no...thats what is on the website.

so....what q's do must i ask. feel like a dunce lol!!

    LOL - a few that I used!!

    · Certificates – Registration (ask about numbers), First Aid,
    · Insurances – inc for car.
    · Charges
    · Holidays (how many weeks she wants, how much notice will she give you. Do you pay when she is on holiday and do you still have to pay when you want holiday!)
    · Background - experience
    · Where baby will sleep
    · How flexible is she – can you change a day? Does she charge if you don’t send him? How much notice for her not to charge?
    · How many other kids she looks after and ages
    · What a typical day is like
    · Does she do a daily diary for baby
    · What her partner does
    · Who else will come into contact with the children - I asked to meet all of them. If a new person is coming CM tells me about it and gives me the opportunity to collect early or whatever if I want to.
    · Whether she drives, what car she drives, has she ever had any accidents
    · What will she do if child is naughty or upset
    · What does she do about children fighting
    · How much TV they will watch
    · Pets and how they interact with the children (if any)
    · Do they take them to toddler group or minder meets
    · Payment – how, when, in advance, in arrears
    · How do they handle the usual biting/hitting issues?
Illness – hers (is she in general good health) her children’s (what happens if her kids are sick) baby’s
    · Bringing toys/belongings from home
    · Who provides what (food, milk, snacks, cups, bibs, nappies, wipes, nappy sacks)
    · Outings – what kind of things would she do? How often? Who pays for them?

I can't remember what my BMI is, but I know it was high - upper 30s anyway - and it was never mentioned at any point during pregnancy or labour :o

Going off on a tangent, I meant to say earlier about a nice experience in John Lewis at the weekend. We were out shopping, and the main shopping centre didn't have a baby change room: just one of those flip down tables in the womens toilets (which aren't really nice) and is right by the sinks etc. anyway. So when Elena needed changed, I thought I would try John Lewis as they might have nicer toilets. However, what I did find was they had a 'parents room' (so hubby could come in with me). It wasn't very swish or anything, but had a long tabled area with 2 changemats on it, a dispenser with a roll of paper towels (like the midwives and HVs use), a good 4 nappy bins, sink and hadwash and handtowels, and what was best - 3 chairs for feeding and you could pull curtains around you for privacy!

A dad came in as we were finishing to change his baby which I thought was lovely, as so many places we've been have been mum & baby option only, and when Elena got hungry later I went back up and could feed her: was strange being curtained round though as haven't been like that since the hospital :D Did make me wonder about the woman I saw when I was pregnant though, who was feeding her baby in the middle of the nursery section of the store, sitting in one of the display nursery chairs ;)

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Chuffed for you all :D:D:D:D:D:D

Been out at Mummy friends house - Jack kicked his dinner all over her nice rug

Spent money I haven't got but it's on some nice storage boxes for our room (though they are smaller than I thought :o), some more vaccum storage bags, 2 concertina folders for paperwork and 2 of the bottles which Jack can hold himself. Not sure what they are called but they have a big hole in the middle so LO can grip. 3 knows what I mean :)

Jillie - hope you manage to sort things out with CM. It's awful not knowing stuff isn't it

:mad::mad::mad::mad: at SS's neighbour. As you can't set fire to him, you should definitely turn him into a shoe

Beenie - hope all going OK :)

Elle - loved the pics of Rhys :) No cot bumper here!
A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Where does the time go?
  • Hi all been off having a RL so not kept up too date with anything so I hope everyone is fine.

Went to the cinema yesterday with Tegan to watch The Lovely Bones at a SCREAM SCREENING which is mad. They give mums/dads coffee and cake before the film and the cinema is full of mum's and babies was expecting it to be full of babies crying but was fine, a couple of grumbly ones and when Tegan started crying I just fed her :D but you don't feel bad cause everyone else's babies are making noises.

We were out in the garden on the weekend and had Tegan wrapped up in her pushchair. She was quite happy and went to sleep - definitely likes the fresh air.

Got the HV coming round tomorrow for my review three weeks on from last time. I am definitely better than I was but still find myself havng bad times. Last night I was trying to do the washing up but T just cried and screamed so I had to give up and was saying (more shouting) "why can't you let me do anything for 5 mins without you crying, daddy is going to come home and I won't have even done the washing up and he'll think mummy is a lazy cow" then I took a deep breath and picked her up and gave her a cuddle and a kiss and fed her. I know it's not her fault but I don't often have the energy so when I do I want to get on with stuff and when I can't I get frustrated. Am going to try and do more in the morning when she is usually happier.

I was thinking about baby signing - does anyone have any experience with this?

  • Oh yeah and the OBEN - that just makes me want to cry. Last week the girl on there was making me laugh it seemed pathetic but I know I must have been the same lol The poor girl with the baby's bowel on the outside my heart went out to her. Last night the eletricity went off half way through I was gutted! Luckily it was only off foor maybe 5/10minutes.
