If you buy any item with the above shops, they wont accept the item back if you change your mind in 7 days.

First idiot reply from them will be, once you open the box we cannot replace. But without open how can you find out that one is good or not. for e.g if the lcd tv picture is really bad. how can you check without open.

But when you go to buy, they would not tell this in advance.

If you buy a television and the picture is "bad" - as in, not fit for purpose - or not the quality advertised (as oppossed to not being of the quality you would like)

then you have every right to take it back

    - store policy does not overrule consumer law.

They arent obliged to offer a refund. I bought an item by mistake and i had remembered that with pc world you could only return something if it was faulty or not fot for purpose but in my case the item was unopened so i thought well ill give it a shot and if they say no then so be it but th guy gave me a refund no trouble.

You know how much margin they get profit on each item more than double in most of the items
Except on all the items you've listed so far (TV's and PC's) they make about 8-9% on pure buy in / sale price, and only about 2-3% of that is raw profit.

If someone tried to sell you an ex-display TV for the full new price you wouldn't buy it, so why do you expect to be able to bring it back because you dont want it and get a full refund?

Shops exist to make money and no matter what you think, you cant spend time (time = money remember) selling goods, processing payment etc, then refunding the whole transaction (more time) and having second hand stock you now have to get rid off (at a reduced price).

AFAIK DSGi stores have up to 28 days on unopened goods and 7 ish days (depending on the mood of the person working on the desk). If I ran a store I certainly wouldn't offer such a policy - it'd be 90% refund on un-opened and 70% on opened goods...

I'm sure noone will do like this, your imagination going in wrong way, There are few odd people always there, but i'm not talking about them. for e.g people misuse benefit system/traffic system and many system, still we do have that systems in place. If we use road we might end up accident so stop all the traffic make it clear all the time that's how i can think of when you say this.

Don't say i'm Idiot, i can also say back to you but i'm not like you. Always rude people dont have any sense. They cannot differtiate what is right/wrong. If you don't understand ask me i will explain, develop your knowledge and skills.

No truthman you are ignorant and beleive the old age saying of the customer is right, when in fact they rarely are.

Returning unwanted items has no relation to the benefit system or traffic laws, either of which you break could see you in prison. Returning an unwanted item isn't going to get you a prison sentance but you could well be told to p1ss off in the nicest possible way.

Maybe you should take some responsibilty for your actions then maybe you wouldn't have problems with Comet, Currys, PC World or even Tesco like you appear to be having. As for whats right or wrong I think you should look closer to home as what you deem to be right a lot more people are deeming to be wrong!!! Maybe you should also spend a little more time browsing MSE to get some knowledge on how things work as you appear to have very little knowledge regarding the topics you start,

Sorry it was used by this guy aginst me, that's why i said dont say idiot. Anyway here we talk about the big bulls, not personal attack. that was not my intention. Hopefully will talk about the matter.

pitkin2020, Silly me that makes it alright then because they have a decent profit margin they can afford to waste their time dealing with idiots like you returning something every 5 minutes just because you changed your mind. Regardless of the profit margin it still costs money, if every customer bought something and returned it 5 days later just because they changed their mind the prices would have to rise as the profit margin is being squeezed on the wasted money and time taking returns.
