Well I`v seen a fridge freezer I want at Electro Centre, which is ALOT cheaper than elsewhere, so I`v emailed John Lewis to see if they will price match (£300 CHEAPER!) I`d obviously prefer to buy from JL if poss as their customer service is excellent. Will let you know how I get on.....0

John lewis priced matched it!!!Took a couple of days for them to come back to me , but was advised to purchase it at full price, then they would refund the difference.Which they did and also got another £70 off for a slight scratch at the side,(which is not noticeable and can`t be seen as against wall)
so got a top of the range panasonic huge fridge freezer listed for £700 at john lewis for £330! :rotfl:
About to do it again for washing machine!0 -
Does anyone have experience of the Samsung cashback offer?
Did you have any hassle receiving this by buying from Electro Centre?0 -

I would take a look at this thread on HUKD ..See post #71 specifically. Electrocentre are excluded from the cashback deal. If you can, I would price match with John Lewis and buy from them.:hello: “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away” anon.0 -
ELECTROCENTRE TOOK MONEY FROM MY ACCOUNT WHEN THEY KNEW THEY HAD NO STOCK! Fortunately I had paid with paypal and after a couple of calls got my money back immediately. Also I had pricematched with John Lewis so have ordered from them now. Beware Electrocentre.:hello: “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away” anon.0

I signed up to say i had the SAME problem!!
Also check out a review from a customer who was also stung by them and it taken him 20 days to get a refund....
I think this "product out of stock but take the money and keep it for weeks anyway" scheme is a recent one by electrocentre ltd..
reviewcentre.com/Online-Domestic-Appliance-Shops/Electro-Centre-www-electrocentreltd-com-review_1971730
I recently ordered a product online from electrocentre ltd. which said it was in stock. electrocentreltd taken the funds immediately.
After 3 days I phoned up and was told the item was out of stock and I will be refunded, obviously they didn't care to email or phone me about the non existent order but happy to take the money! very shady business practices.
I phoned up again asking why the refund is taking a long time and gave me the excuse that the refund guy only works on monday...I got the impression from the guy on the phone that he was making excuses to hold back the cash. very strange indeed and as of today i am still waiting for a "refund".
They KNOW the item isnt in stock and knowingly take the money!!
I guess electrocentre ltd do this because on their business account they make extra interest holding on to multiple customers funds for weeks with this scheme.
That explains the stall tactics and excuses to hold on to the cash. A refund should be immediate and NOT take up to 2 weeks of repeated phone calls to the business....
Almost ALL respected online retailers take the funds when the product is"in stock" and item is about to be dispatched but electrocentreltd take your money immediately and go silent,I had to phone THEM to find out the item was out of stock...
like what the previous poster said pay with paypal because if your item is a phantom non existent one like many people have recently commented you don't have to wait 2 weeks for a refund..
Obviously I personally would NEVER recommend this company

Sorry to hear about your trouble with the Electrocentre. I am afraid it gets worse for you.
I can confirm the Electrocentre are closing down.
90% of their products have been removed from the site. One particular category has been reduced from 372 to just 10 products.
Of the remaining products, the price has significantly increased in value.
When clicking on a product page it states you are unable to pay online.
I phone to asked about this and the agent said he was unable to process the payment by phone.
I asked the agent if they were closing down and he in fact confirmed they were.
The agent suggested buying from 24/7 Electrical Limited.
24/7 Electrical are linked. The registered company name is Electro Centre 2012 Limited but they trade as 24/7 Electrical. They have the same Director and the address details are the same as Electrocentre Limited.
This Electro Centre 2012 Limited was set up a year ago which makes this suspicious – in my opinion, was it planned? The linked Director is Munir Ahmad. The shareholders are also the same in both companies.

I think you mean "247electronics.co.uk"
247 Electronics has the same details as Electrocentre. You have to wonder why they do this.0
