Electrocentre - would you recommend them?

NO!!!! I have had problems with confirming delivery, I had trouble understanding their accent, then...:mad:They smashed up my doorstep dragging the washing machine in, now it leaks and they wont give me a new machine!!!

ive just brought a washing machine from them, they sent me the older version of the one they had photographed, so i feel iv been ripped off a little, when i told them they wanted £75 to have it sent back to cancel the sale, so ive kept it. and i feel so disappointed with my machine now, it was also listed as grade A, which is mentioned to be very minor dent/scratch/chip, but the whole of the door is covered in scratches like its been wiped with wire wool, and the main wire is filthy and the plug has a scrape out of it, it looks more like a manufactures refurbished. the smell inside is like strong damp, i keep running hot washes to clear it but its not working, and... the drum keeps banging the side of the machine making a horrid loud noise, so iv booked a call out with hot point already, it only came Friday and its now Sunday (3days)
i though i was getting a great deal, but now it looks like the old saying... if its to good to be true it probably is, i personally wouldn't use them again.

update on my washing machine from electro centre...

once it was opened up there was a spring missing that holds the drum steady and both the dampers (shock absorbers) were NOT connected to the drum at all, this 11kg washing machine was literally being held by 2 springs at the top!!! i am absolutely appalled they were aloud to sell this machine to me.
they must of known and just thought that it would be down to Hotpoint manufacturing guarantee to fix it.

Bought a new Bosch Condenser tumble dryer WTS 86500GB at £498 ...best price found on the web
Ordered Sunday 4th Nov.2012 .Confirmatory email received when checking at 10 am next morning,5th Nov. Phonecall at 11am promising delivery sometime Tuesday morning 6th.
Phonecall from driver on the 6th saying he was half an hour away. Arrived within time frame given at 11.15am. Dryer, porter-trolleyed by two polite gents up 9 steps into house, unwrapped and photographed. Absolutely pleased so far.
Registered warranty today, 7th with Bosch UK to find the extended warranty price currently advertised on their website, which incidentally is a lot cheaper than Electrocentre offer, is £30 dearer than quoted in the Bosch official documents included with dryer itself. Bosch aren't for honouring price on the documents.." their system won't allow it". Will pursue this with trading standards if necessary....:beer:

I had a good experience with them delivering my TV back in June 2011. However the 3D TV has now developed a line down it - which should be covered under the 'Fit for Purpose' under the Sale of Goods Act (an £833 TV should last longer than 16 months!).
Their customers services aka Owner said he would sell me additional warranty but will not do anything for free or replace it......I will now start the good old legal route of suing him - but would say beware.

If you want a bargain and can move the item from your doorstep to where ever it is to be fitted then i suppose Company is OK. However delivery men are a total waste of time. They managed to get a fridge freezer from the van to my door step which was the hardest part of the move. They wouldn't move it another 5m and down 1 small step in to my kitchen. We have a large hall way so plenty of width and no chance of scratching. Infact they left all the cardboard they stripped from the fridge freezer in our front yard and said they don't have any room in their van. One of the delivery guys said he can't move it any further as her has to watch his blood pressure!!!! what is he doing delivering heavy items????

I had a bad experience.
Bought a Bosch dishwasher from them as their price was slightly higher but they advertised a £30 cashback.
However, when this wasn't forthcoming I called only to be told that this offer had closed a week before I placed my order.
The person I spoke to was offhand and just fobbed me off. He claimed that the closing date was shown against the offer - it wasn't.
Now I have read their T's and C's and I have to say they don't exude customer friendliness.
I would recommend everyone to be very wary of using this firm.

Sorry but I don't think John Lewis do price match with ElectroCentre. I've just looked into this with regard to buying a Samsung EcoBubble washing machine which is £50 cheaper with ElectroCentre.

JL say that their conditions for price matching include the requirement for a competitor to have high street retail outlets as well as an online facility rather than an online store only and sadly ElectroCentre are online only, no retail branches.

Yes they do pricematch as i have pricematched myself , and Electrocentre have a shop ......

I ordered a dishwasher last friday and no confirmation of the dispatch was given till tuesday afternoon (for the item to be delivered the following day between 10-18). I phoned them monday and tuesday but I it was like talking with a deaf person.
Zero emphathy and customer care attitude.
I will never use them again.
