Managed to have the weekend as NSD's:T
So thats 3 so far. This no spending days is so much harder than I thought.
I have been thinking about this and it seems that organisation is the key, and I'm not the most organised person in the world:(
I do so want to do this challange.
I have resolved this week to start to get organised:D people wont recognise me. Is it too late to make a new years resolution do you think?
  • I have had another NSD today. :)
Free Films in 2011: Tangled, Chalet Girl, Never Say Never, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

  • Hello all!

I'm a bit slow off the mark again this month, but managed to chalk up NSD number 1 today. :j

Good luck and best wishes everyone!
  • Hey,

Well done to all! I've had NSD number 3 today. I won't manage tomorrow as I need to get some tomatoes (I made a pasta sauce yesterday but I ate most of it - a couple more tomatoes should be plenty).

NSD no.4 for me today :T. I was soooo tempted to go for a veggie, deep pan pizza with garlic bread but resisted temptation . Besides, i can't really afford it :o.

Have a great week ahead, peeps
Am so impressed. I drove 2 hours home from BF's (after eating a roast dinner!) and all the way back I was salivating down my front at the thought of........ 100% prime beef burger preferably with a slice of blue cheese and a portabello mushroom. Then I got on to salt and pepper wings, hot and sour soup, noodles.....then I got on to pizza......I was trying to justify buying a huge humongous one that I could cut in half and have the rest for tomorrow nights tea....then after that I got to thinking about Jerk Chicken......it was agony! I hate living near so many flipping takeaways.

I ended up with cheese on toast - and it was pretty foul as the bread was old and the cheese is half fat so never tastes as good. Oh well - at least I still have that takeway money in my pocket - and so do you Coffee break! Hurrah! And knowing you did without also has proper cheered me up :D

I would like to say that I'd achieved a NSD this weekend but no such luck. Yesterday I bought a pair of shoes for work. There had been this pair in Clarks that I really liked/wanted and I did indeed need a pair but I refused to pay full price. They were then discounted by 33% but still I thought 'You've got to be having a flipping LAUGH..........' and there I was hanging on for 50% off sale. That day came but by that time the shoes appear sold out in their online shop. So I've been sulking for the past two weeks. Yesterday I saw them in a real shop, in my size and with 50% off so I now have new shoes. Today was not a NSD either as I needed petrol and hadn't managed to get it yesterday. Sigh

Gym membership was sorted out so they are no longer demanding an extra payment from me. Hurrah! :T

The Lebanese have stopped spending my money and my bank have refunded what was taken out. I am Verrrrrrrrry happy about that. :j

Lollypop - very sorry to hear your job news. Keep your chin up - things have a way of working out for the best even if sometimes you have to get there in a round about way and suffer setbacks. Best of luck and keep us all posted

Should be able to notch up some NSD's this week. No fresh food in the fridge but I'm extremely lucky enough to get free lunches at work and have a few meals for evenings in the freezer. So I just need to hold out until Thursday when I will need to shop for BF coming up at the weekend

Keep NSD'ing guys and gals! That money is better in our pockets than theirs!

Grocery stock-up done yesterday (almost £15 in one day  guess that's what comes of not buying a couple of bits every days as I realise I need something!!!!)

But today was an NSD - up to 4 for this challenge (and 3 total NSDs).

Should be able to get an extra 3 / hopefully 4 / maybe 5 this week (4 of the main meals for the next 5 days already planned with everything in stock - and I'm sure I can find something in the freezers/cupboards for the other), but will need a (very small) top-up shop either Friday or Saturday so won't get beyond there (potatoes needed for definite, and frozen veg likely to be a 'must' as well). I'm then hoping to manage without any more spending until the following Fri/Sat as DS is away for the week - so my meals are being based around bits in the freezer (only one portion left and/or DS doesn't like).

Absolutely not peedie. New year's resolutions are all about state of mind, if you're ready to do it, you will, no matter what time of year. Go for it...
    Good luck x

One more NSD for me for today, still in pyjamas  so I doubt I'll be nipping off to the shops! :D
Just make sure it's not MrT if you do :D Have to say that it appears the latest 'thing' around here & the local shops, but I don't think it's very attractive to see people wandering around swathed in towelling dressing-gowns & bunny slippers at 3:20 in the afternoon  There's days when I don't get dressed till after I've done my chores [& it's those when the window cleaner, meter reader, parcel post all call embarassed.gif], but to make a habit of going out like it is taking things too far IMO.

Tell me about it! You'd think I would know better wouldn't you, having had 11 months practise :doh:but I am soooo with the organisation &/or lack thereof :o So No! It isn't too late to make a New Year's Resolution because if you make it on August 7th 2010, it will still be a full year to get to August 7th 2011 :p I really must write down that saying about it being 'better to try & fail then to fail to try' as it sums up my entire Life in a few words :T
