There are no lame questions on here ;).

Also, I never had much in the way of EWCM before or after the pill. Make sure you use a sperm friendly lube if you need it.

Thanks again :) for the info.

What about knowing about OV dates? Or is that something only the really clever TTC people can get to grips with and a newbie like me will be left in the dark until I've learnt to understand my own body?! Are there any symptoms you can learn or is it simply down to the wonderful machines that some of you have?

Hey doglover, I'm not using CBFM or temping or anything so don't know my exact OV dates either, I have pretty regular 28 day cycles and am assuming a 14 day luteal phase (something I'd never heard of until I came on here) meaning I OV CD14.

I don't get much CM at all, and get random cramps and pains due to IBS so can't tell any symptoms so I'm operating in the dark for the moment.

:grouphug: To everyone who has needed it recently. I wanted to offer the same support everyone gave me when I had my wobble at the end of my last cycle, you're all lovely ladies and this is a great place to come to for info and support. Sorry I've just been lurking as I'm going through one of my bad sleep periods which means I can barely string sentences together!

Can I be put on the list for the 19th June - I will either be testing or buying a CBFM! :D

You can increase ewcm by drinking lot's of fluid and I hear grapefruit juice or Robitussin cough syrup (red box, not the one with decongestant) can help too.

I'm trying both. I can't drink grapefruit juice in the morning, so I take cough syrup in the morning, small glass of grapefruit juice for lunch and cough syrup with dinner. Will see if it helps:p

I usually get tons of ewcm, but don't want to chance it this time with taking Soy and all:o

Just seem to be surrounded by bumps and babies lately. Im sure they are stalking me  :rotfl:

    Hope you are well! xx

Ok, next stupid question - what is IC? How long did it take you all to get into a regular cycle? What cycle length is considered too short and too long? Sorry, questions galore all of a sudden!

Feed me as much info as poss - I suddenly feel pretty silly not having learnt all this before!

So if I give myself a test date of 19th June that'll be me at cd35. Do you think that's ok as my first date to work towards?

    x

No silly questions on here (and none to much info <tmi> either :rotfl:)

IC means internet cheapies but can also include cheapies from the poundshop or BMs etc. They are pregnancy test strips. Some people like them and others dont. Personal choice really.

Re cycle length and ov dates etc, i found babycentre.co.uk was good for info and they have a ov calculator. Not exactly accurate but ok when you are starting out. Best advice is aim for every 2 or 3 days during the month but esp during the week of poss ov.

If you want I can add you to the testing list for the 19th June. Its personal choice of if you want to go on it and what date. I like to use it because it helps me deter from testing when I know its way to early.

These are supposed to be good for sperm (Zinc):

Meat, fish, pumpkin seeds, rye, oysters, almonds, brazil nuts, ginger, eggs and leafy greens.

Thank you. Off to have a read now. DH already eats pumpin seeds because they are supposed to be good to ward off cold sores.

Thank you all so much, you're being so nice.

Perdi - I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't know when OV happens for me. It sounds like you've got a good regular cycle so when I get there I'm hoping I can hazard a guess too.

QQ - thank you the link. Reading it has made me more convinced I don't get the EWCM!! I'm hoping that from what Perdi and Claire have said that it isn't the end of the world. I can get myself used to grapefruit juice but not sure about the cough syrup! However, I'm sure I'll be reading back in a few months to find out which brand you suggested! Is the soy for TTC reason or a personal choice?

GTS - thank you for the explanations of the abbreiviations. Are the ICs different from preg test sticks then? Am I right in thinking that I read a while back that they are more sensitive? I've got a first response and a clear blue waiting in the cupboard. Would you suggest I get an IC too?

Ooo yes please, it'd be good to be added to your list. It'll make it feel real. The same date as Perdi for my first one :).

Do any of you get nervous when approaching your test date and think about putting it off or are you too excited/anxious to know and rush to test?

I've downloaded a period tracker which has given me a suggested OV date but I've ignored it for this month as it's basing everything on my text book pill dates from earlier months. I'm sure I'll be checking it every 5 minutes once I'm into a cycle ;). This time it suggested that I OVd on 30 May but I don't remember feeling anything abnormal and I really concentrated :rotfl:. In the meantime, I wondered if there are any obvious signs of OV that I could look out for.

Doglover - Evening Primrose tablets can help as well - see here: http://www.babyhopes.com/articles/epo.html

You must stop taking it when you ovulate - I didn't realise this so am hoping it won't have made a difference (6 weeks pg today and only stopped taking it yesterday).

I'd also suggest getting some Ovulation sticks from Ebay as they really helped me to pin down when I ovulate.

Congratulations!! I wish you a very happy and healthy pregnancy . From what you say, I think I'll get the ov sticks before the evening primrose oil as I can see me getting this one all wrong!

Do the ov sticks work by poas and they let you know when you are actually ov? And remind me (awful I can't remember I know) is the ideal to bd every other day but particularly the week during ov? Is it ideal to bd on the day of ov or would it not matter that much? Also, is it only worth (for ttc purposes) to bd before ov and a few days after? Obviously there's the fun bit to be taken into account too!

Sorry, my mad flurry of questions will stop soon - promise!

I think they are more sensitive but not really sure. Im sure that the ICs you need to PIAC (pee in a cup) and dip other than POAS (pee on a stick) :rotfl: dont know why that makes me chuckle but it does.

I personally find it better not to have any preg tests in the house otherwise i am too easily tempted to test early :naughty: but again personal choice.

I'll add you now to the earlier list. Wishing you loads of luck.
