i is being broken againSparkle1980 wrote: »As for Jamie Oliver - he came to my house and cooked with usBrought 6 bottles of champers too  He's a lovely bloke, really easy to get along with. Doesn't do it for me tho
QQ - your friend does sound rather odd - has she not seen a doc in her 20 years of TTC?
I think she may have a bit of a BDing prob, I remember her telling me she was crying after the smear long time back. I think it hurts to BD, so his swimmers may have had no chance going up there:o I did tell her there's an op to widen the area years ago, but she wasn't keen. I've mentioned Preseed few weeks back and offered to get it for her, but that failed too.
I think she's given up now, they are really close loving couple:)
I'm trying to wake her up again to the idea, since I think it'll be their last chance given her age, and they are financially very stable, and really in love, but I'm not going to raise the subject unless she does. This time she asked about my AF so I replied with extra info:p0 -
Fuzz - Its so hard not to ss isn't it?? I keep getting slight cramps, but can never decide if its trapped wind or not lol. Ive never had particularly regular bowel movements - tmi, sorry
I know what you mean about the teaching. Whilst i would like to teach at secondary level, the older kids scare me lol. And especially teaching RE, its not the most interesting subject for the kids lol. But when i was at school you had the option of doing either re, history or geography from year 10, so maybe only the kids that want to do it at that level would do it. Oh, the questions in my mind! Looking forward to going to this event in a couple of weeks - it should answer all my questions!
Quaver - you are lovely. Your friend is lucky to have you. Maybe email her a link to the 12 months+ thread so that she can have a read?0 -

Just thought I'd drop some hints here and there.
She knows about my mc, so she's only trying to make me feel better by saying she never had a child either:o0 -
Sammy depending on what part of the country you are in primary is ridiculously competative. You'd possibly have to move to somewhere else to get a job.
I think the careers fair thing is a great idea. Why don't you ask if you could go and do some observation in a school? Although I think you'd need a CRB to do it.
Honestly, I LOVE my teaching job. I'm secondary science. However, I think it's a very personal thing. It really is one of those jobs you love (and it can and will take over your life to a degree) or you'll hate it. If you hate it in IMHO you should leave before you get stressed and bitter. If you love it you'll thrive off it.
It's not a job you can do half heartedly though. I never wanted to be a teacher...in fact it was last on my possible career moves. Then I got a job as a TA just whilst I figured out how to get where I wanted to be (which I wasn't really sure where that was either if I'm honest). I LOVED that job...but got frustrated by my lack of input. So I ended up retrainning at a teacher (I have my degree already too) by doing a 2 year PGCE. I've never looked back...love it! I'm only 5'4 and most kids tower over me and look older than me...but they still show respect if you treat them fairly (most of the time).Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

I know there's some lovely teachers on here - and just wanted your opinions really. There's a teacher training event in London in a couple of weeks which Ive booked to attend. It would be a Post-Grad that I would do as I already have a degree. But I don't know, which course would be good for me and a wise career move. My main choices would either be early primary or secondary with RE. Although I can imagine that early primary is quite competitive. What do you guys think?
Hi
I wanted to do exactly the same thing but the cost of the training really put me off. But from what I learnt in my initial investigations, early primary is very competitive and gaining lots of experience with kids will be a huge advantage - for example you could volunteer with the Rainbows (little Brownies!), at your local gallery if they do any kids sessions etc etc. Also you will need a 2 week placement in a school so it's worth making enquiries soon as they get booked up very quickly. I also found out that little ones are going to be taught a language as standard from very early on so it's worth getting your French or Spanish up to GCSE standard if you haven't already.
Hope that helps - if you need any more info PM me, I might not know the answer but can probably point you in the right directionxx

Same here with bowels and I also have a mouth ulcer, and I found a drink tasting really metallic last night. Unfortunately me and OH haven't BD'd for over a month and I've had AF since then so I know I'm not pg. Thanks Twinklie - thats great advice. I had an inkling that primary would be competitive. We're on the outskirts of London and because of DH's job and our house - we really wouldn't want to move. I'm actually getting quite excited about the idea. Ive been looking online and there's still places available in some of the London Uni's, and it's not too late to apply for Sep 2010 intake. Can I ask how you got your TA job? Did you do your PGC part time whilst doing your TA job?0

So I am home alone never a good thing and I really want to get another tat2 done NOW today!!! DH will kill me he hates them not him at all but they are a part of my life like a map I only have them done when there has been a major event in my life I think my MC counts. If you can think it........it will happen0

I went to a comp in Wales, and out of 1200 pupils there prob wasn't more than about 15 non white kids in the whole school. But in our RE classes, there really wasn't much Christianity taught. I learnt loads about Buddhism, Judaism, Islam etc, but didn't really learn about the Christianity calendar until I started going to Church as an adult! Very strange, but interesting none the less.lilian1977 wrote: »Hi

I saw an option at one Uni for Primary with French, which I thought sounded interesting. Ive got an A Level in French which could be useful?
Fuzz - I was going to ask how long your cycles are? When are you going to POAS then? Ive given myself until a day after AF is due. Ive also read that you can use OPKs as HPTs, but not to rely on them too much. Dangerous knowledge as I have a few OPKs knocking about0
