Just Signed Upto E2Save. Need Advice?

Hello,
I just signed up to a Contract on E2Save. Having read all the shocking reviews, I took the plunge and thought if I get it right with the cashbacks, I save a fortune.

I signed upto a Vodafone 300 Contract with Nokia 1661 on an 18 month deal with 17 months free. I ported my number from T-Mobile.

I put the order in on Sunday 24th Jan 2010, Passed The Credit Check, Phone was dispatched on Monday and received today.

I was informed that my number would port automatically and would take 5-7 days. E2save would arrange this and I would be without service for 1 day but I can use my existing SIM and Phone until it gets cut off. I was also told I wouldn't get a temporary number.

Q1) Will my contract start from today 26th Jan - or when my Vodafone line goes active? I heard a few stories on here that if you buy at the end of the month - then Month 1 can sometimes be the following month (Feb) as the last few days are rolled over to the Feb Bill.

Q2) Can I send in photocopies of my bills or must they be original. I'm worried they will get lost in the post and posting recorded to a POBox address doesn't give a signnature so proving they got my bills is hard

What other tips can you offer me to ensure I get my cashbacks properly - its £510 of cash they will owe me over 18 months and im worried but excited too.

    Q2)

e2save is a good company and i have recived all mycashback for 4 years.. however last april i went direct to 02 better deal lol..

ur contract goes live when u put sim in and vodafone have set it up... u will never get overcharged.. so dont worry.. u can call vodafone to see when it starts.

    2) /3)you send a photocopy to the address and by royal mail first class recorded deliver... you get a signature upon receipt and u get a receipt from the Post office! keep in a safe place and track it a few days later..

i suggest u always call before u send ur bill to make ur sure ur sending the correct bill etc... the number u call is 02088965000 and ask for e2save cashback. they tell you ur claim period and what bill to send.. get them to document it in the notes.. so if any problems ur still entitled to it.

after sending the recorded delivery phone check the royal mail website 4 days later to see if the signature is up.. then u know its reached..

the cheques can take along time to come somtimes up to 3 months!! so hang in there. u can call them again and they will raise the cheque if it hasnt been raised ( techincal term of theirs which sends it to th Carphone warehouse printing place!!!) however most of the time they send a text message to u saying claim has been received!! then you just have to sit back and wait for ROyal mail to deliver!!

also the money goes onto ur account.. so if u neeed to buy anything from carphonewarehouse u can use this money... when you go to the till just say there is credit on my account! they can use this as part payment!!!

by calling them u can guarantee that u will eventually receive a cheque

hope this helps!! many typos cos im tying in bed in the dark!!

    xx
  • Good advice above i will only add check check and triple check everything , their terms and conditions can be very open to interpretation and lots of little pieces of confusion are added at various points. Web searches will back me up on this.

The one and only time i used them they changed the claim dates midway through a contract and refused to pay out claiming i missed one, i knew i was in the right and took them to the small claims court and won. But right up to the week before the judgement they ignored all correspondence but then suddenly decided to pay up with a couple of days to go. I left it and it was found in my favour and they paid out again !

Despicable company who trade on people being confused / intimidated out of claiming.

I had an E mail from them last week offering a £5 a month contract with no mention what so ever of redemption or cash back claims, like a fool i phoned to get this amazing offer and after 10 minutes of malecowfaeces i was told that would be £30 a month ... i said pardon .. they said the £5 is the net amount after redemption. I told them where to file it.
    WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..
    Blimey what was that ?
    That was your life mate
Oh I wasn’t quite ready can I have another go ?
Sorry mate only one per person.

You and a long line of others have needed to sue and then hold fast until the last minute before they coughed up. Cpw decided nearly three years ago to start selectively denying legitimate claims and to constanlty change (then ignore) their own (or ones they copied from other dealers) t&c, give out false claim dates and basically lie/deny. Anyone relying on "sitting back" and waiting for the cheque is playing a risky game with any cpw company if the moeny is of importance to them. Calling and asking them to log the answer on their system is asking for trouble for the same reasons. Cover yourself at every stage and not knowing exactly which bills to use under the t&c you sign up to is a very dangerous start - a basic thing you need to be absolutely certain about before you "take the plunge".
  • Thank you for the responses.
Mobilejunkie - I had read some of your posts on these forums and your advice is excellent.

I signed up to this contract after some research into E2Save's problems, and I did so with the minset that it will cost me £30 a month for 18 months and IF i get my cashback it is a bonus. I'm prepared to take the risk and lose all should things go wrong but dont get me wrong - I will fight to the death to try to get my money back.

As mentioned, I signed up on Sunday, Got my confirmation all was clear on Monday and got my phone and Vodafone SIM on tuesday. Put my SIM in and as expected the SIM registration failed which they said would happen for upto 48 hours, and then however long it takes to port my number from T-Mobile.

When I got my package, there was a phone, SIM and just a CPW invoice. I didn't get anything else from E2save (ie: welcome pack - cashback vouchers etc...)

Q1) Is this right? I can download my welcome pack and vouchers so perhaps they've gone green.

Q2) You mention T&C's are important, not what they tell you to do to get your cashback. What T&C are you referring too? On the E2save website, under Help > Cashback > T&C's it gives you details for purchases after April 2008. Are these the legal terms? Should I print them? How do I know they apply to my deal?

OR is it the general t&C's of E2save, which can be found on Help > T&C's > Terms of Sale.

Q3) I saw a post on here that regardless of what they say, 6 months after connection, you should send that bill in to claim. Is this correct?

    Thanks

Q1) The t&c don't mention a claim form so you don't need one. Not only that there is a specific answer to that question on the site.

Q2) The t&c ARE what to do to get your cashback; if you weren't certain before you ordered, then why order? Had you read my guide (or enough of the feedback on this and other companies) you should know that printing off the t&c is not only essential (especially with ANY CPW company) but SHOULD be done at the point of sale.

Q3) The t&c couldn't be clearer. Waiting 6 months until after connection is a month too late (though the 60 day claim window MIGHT give you time to correct and re-send). It's actually five months under THESE t&c. I would add that your ability to find, read and understand the t&c leaves you extremely vulnerable with a company such as this. It doesn't say "connection", it says "purchase" - that is where the real ambiguity can arise, depending on when you ordered, when it was confirmed, despatched AND connected! CPW companies have a habit in such cases of ignoring the meaning or words and inventing their own - Mobiles.co.uk has recently done just that and unjustifiably denied several claims until people found this forum and went public (though have subsequently changed the wording to cover what they actually do rather than what the original t&c said); I wonder how many didn't and merely lost their money!

I have taken out the same deal and have a question about number porting. With regards to vodafone the e2save FAQ states that you have to inform them of the PAC code at the time of ordering. However I wanted to have my cake and eat it (wanted Quidco:D which woulod not have been paid if I called to place the order) so I ordered the phone and now want to port a number over from Virgin to the Vodafone phone from e2save. Would I be able to do it? Would it affect my cashback?

In a word, no, it is not possible, unless it has changed in the last year since I checked (. Vodafone are an awkward bunch and I understand will only let you transfer in your number at the point of connection (whereas T-Mobile and Orange, possibly others, will let you phone to port when you received your phone/activate you SIM.

    Sorry

Hi, I just joined this forum site to say my bit on the last quotes. Good stuff by the way.
I have been with e2save a while now and had no probs. I just downloaded the claim form from there website. You need to login to your account using your email and order ID used to buy phone. There's all the details there about offer etc, so all should be clear. I agree though, DONT ASSUME ANYTHING! AND PHONE THEM IF YOU ARE NOT SURE. They are good normally over the phone . (phone claims dept)

I have done same deal as reez777. Time will tell. Also just got another phone but went to mobiles.co.uk Still CPW. Not all eggggsss
in... Only £15 per month whatever happens to cashback. (vodaphone 300)
    Best to all!
  • Hi reez777,

We have received a response from e2save on the issues you have posted:

"Q1) Will my contract start from today 26th Jan - or when my Vodafone line goes active? I heard a few stories on here that if you buy at the end of the month - then Month 1 can sometimes be the following month (Feb) as the last few days are rolled over to the Feb Bill.

Your contract will start from the January and your first cashback month is counted as January being Month number 1.

Q2) Can I send in photocopies of my bills or must they be original. I'm worried they will get lost in the post and posting recorded to a POBox address doesn't give a signnature so proving they got my bills is hard

You are more than welcome to send in photocopies also when posting by recording delivery we can track this by the delivery reference number. There is a bulk signature so we know that your claim has been delivered.

What other tips can you offer me to ensure I get my cashbacks properly - its £510 of cash they will owe me over 18 months and im worried but excited too.
    Q2)

Just ensure your bill contains all the information required and post by recorded delivery whilst always keeping a copy of the bill and you will have no problems at all. If you do and need help feel free to contact me at sarahw@e2save.com "
