Hi,
can anyone tell me if there is a template for Mortgage PPI reclaim. I too have a claim against AWD on a Mortgage we took out in June 2005. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.0 -

We re-mortgaged with AWD in June 2005 and paid a single premium of £3893 for MPPI for my Husband (accident, sickness and unemployment) and £2794 for me(accident and sickness) added to our Mortgage term. I didn't realise I was covered until I had notification that the cover was due to end last summer. I already have 6mths full pay, 6mths half pay etc as I work for the NHS. They knew this. We were really pressured into taking the Mortgage out with them by the Sales advisor.
We did have to claim for my Husband when he was out of work for 4mths in 2011.
Do we have a leg to stand on? The provider was D&D Homecare, is it them I need to get in touch with?
I need all the advice I can get about this. With thanks :beer:0 -

That isnt a good complaint reason. You signed a contract that disclosed the amount of borrowing and mortgage KFIs came in 2004. So, its hard to complain that you didnt know when it is staring you in the face. More likely is that you signed without reading and yes they may not have told you a lot about it but it was not hidden away.I already have 6mths full pay, 6mths half pay etc as I work for the NHS.
That is a strong reason. We were really pressured into taking the Mortgage out with them by the Sales advisor.
Now you have just contradicted yourself as you say you felt pressured into it but earlier you said you didnt know you had it. Which is it?paid a single premium of £3893 for MPPI
That is the strongest complaint reason with MPPI. Monthly premium is how it should be. Not single premium and certainly not single premium added to debt (as single premium protection can be justified in some areas, such as life assurance. Indeed a did one recently on a whole of life assurance).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

I meant we felt pressured into the deal as a whole and I only thought they were protecting my Husband as the Breadwinner and the Rep had said I already have a good work package. So yes I mustn't have read what I was signing.
Thank you for the excellent advice. I can now see we do have a claim in the single premium payment and the fact that I was already covered and they were aware of this but still sold me a policy. Do I have a claim against bad advice too?
Where do I go from here, is there a template? Who do I send a letter to? and will I need to send any evidence?
Many thanks :beer:0 -
All you need is the account number and reasons for mis sell (front loaded is the main one)
Look here for other reasons that may apply

Fill the questionnaire in

Keep a copy in case this goes to FOS, send this first class and get a proof of posting.0 -

June 2005 sales WERE regulated.
AWD was/is an appointed representative of Legal & General. So your best bet is to complain to L&G0 -
Hi,
In August 2003 my wife and I remortgaged through Carrington Carr and they sold us a single premium PPI costing £6102 which was added onto our new mortgage. We were advised that this was 'compulsory' to us having the mortgage and they went to the trouble of cancelling our existing policy with Abbey National. The policy ended 21st August 2009. I lost my job in July 2009 and we tried to claim, only to be told that they don't pay for the first month so we only had 3 days of policy left that they would pay out for! Useless! Of course, as I had just lost my job, they wouldn't let us renew the policy either. It was at that point we looked into things and realised we may have been mis-sold the policy.
We tried to claim using Martins letter templates on the basis of being advised the PPI was compulsory, only to be told that it was statue barred as more than 6 years had passed since we took out the policy. We weren't sure how to argue with that, so I put in a complaint with the Ombudsman, only to be told that CC weren't regulated by them at that time.
It's recently become clear that the single premium policy was also a mis-sell, but I'm not really sure how to take this forward any further. I was hoping to write to Legal & General, but of course, they only became representatives of CC in 2004, so no hope there!
We would be really grateful if anyone has any suggestions?
Thanks0
