    hi
i think new york is like that, being expensive, though i always try to save some money where i can, so i always try to see if there are deals or anything before hand.

    kind regards

Yes it was expensive BUT when you travel that far to a place like NY you tend not to scrimp and enjoy it,i know saving money is great but in our case travelling when reaching 66 years of age to a place that only the very rich went to when i was young i am sure we can be forgiven for spending $8 on a pint and $100 on a night out at a pub/restaraunt,it only my sons inheritance:rotfl::rotfl:

hi and of course you are right about not to scrimp but i guess i was referring to if you can find a good deal, a 241 or something to lower the exspense you should !
i did notice how exspensive drinks were( i dont drink booze but my brother does) i remeber easily spending around $120 in about 90 mins watching the footie last year, though that was drinks and food for us both!
  • Anyone headed to Atlantic City on the greyhound from NYC for the day or over night? Any thoughts to share etc?

I totally agree, it is ticked off the bucket list. We had saved up hubbys overtime money so we were well covered as I didn't want to have to use the credit card (although I have been charge $38 by the rooftop bar) I gave her the cash & told her not to charge the card, the hotel are looking into it for me but I daresay I wont get that back :(. We went to a steakhouse on our last night & there was so much waste & the bill was $224 with $18 included for gratuity, & my steak had loads of fat running through it which ruined the flavour for me :(

I am thinking of doing a helicopter tour and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations?

We are going end of next week and ideally want to get something booked within a day or two.

I have done the helicopter tour in Vegas over the grand canyon but my wife hasn't and thought it would be a good surprise for her

I got back a couple of weeks ago and didnt have the best time but that is another post for another time.

I did come to post that if you take money out from the PNC bank, it does not charge for withdrawals so please try that!

    TD definitely does

Sorry you did not have a great time in NY,when you get time post a trip report as this always helps others to avoid any pitfalls etc.

We came back last week and had a great time, Weather was very hot so drinking plenty of fluids.

Once we got used to the streets and avenues then it was simple navigating the city.

Now We have been I dont know if we will ever go back again as what more is there once you have seen all the sights
