Seeing as though you took 2 of our smiley's....

.....can we have something in return?

Can't you make it so people can't post pictures any bigger than standard message board size? *insert missing confused smiley* ;) It's really really really (yes that much) annoying.

Or if they are bigger, can they be displayed as a thumbnail or something?

You have the option from the "User CP" to block Signatures, Avatars and Images.

    Hey folks,

Sounds like a techie solution is needed for this - we'll get the dev team to look into it.

    Cheers

    Just my 2p ...

Should really be done by the poster themselves imho

    - either using "picture resize" type software on their own PC,

    - or by using the facilities on the host sites, like Photobucket, Flickr etc.

No, but if big pics are so annoying it is a simple solution which avoids them troubling the OP without reducing the enjoyment others may get from looking at big ones.

You're presuming a degree of technical knowhow that some of us just haven't got. (Speaking as a former culprit of oversized pictures.:o - getting the picture on in the first place was a major achievement.)

Believe me, I am as far removed from being a techie as can be.

Even reading the details in this link causes severe anxiety (NOT true, lol).

    http://download.cnet.com/Image-Resizer-Powertoy-for-Windows-XP/3000-18487_4-10905400.html

It is a small programme which allows you to resize a photo
    - very very simply
    - you choose the photo on your PC,
    - you right click on it,
    - you choose the size you want from a menu that pops up
    - and you get a second copy of the photo now at the size you want
    - VIP - the original stays intact.

    - You can then
    - upload that resized version to the various hosting sites
    - and don't need to use their facilities for resizing
    - or
    - just post direct to MSE
    - using the "insert" photo symbol
    - when you use "go advanced"

    - and it's good for use in e-mails.

MSE Feature - the software is free.

    PS:
This is for those on Windows XP
Don't know about Vista or Windows 7.

    PPS:
May also help those inclined to peering :A
