Best advice, give the dealer your phone number and walk away.
They will get back to you, if they don't agree your terms, go elsewhere, there are thousands of dealers out there, one of them will be desperate to sell.0 -
Would you say a £250 3 year servicing plan from the VW dealer would work out better than getting it done independently?
The following is included in the service plan*:
12 months/10,000 miles - Oil change service
24 months/20,000 miles - Interval service (including oil change)
36 months/30,000 miles - Inspection service (including oil change) and brake fluid change0 -
Also about the ridiculous £205 charge for getting the car in black (which I really don't understand seen as black is pretty much a standard colour). If they already had the model you were after in black ready made and sitting and on a forecourt somewhere, would you still pay the extra?
Is this price set in stone? Could you say it was a deal killer and try and wrangle it as a freebie? State you were dead set on getting a black model and will just go for a Fiesta instead of paying that stupid charge.0 -
I got gap insurance discounted down from £499 to £275, free fitted mats, free fitted mudflaps, halp price bluetooth unit, free ipod cable, half a tank of diesel and that was on top of the £4000 or so discount i got.0

Yes. Its good value at that, and your call will have a proper dealer history.0 -

It may well be a stupid charge, but so are the prices for any extra.
Any car in stock that has extras on it, will have to be paid for, but that doesnt mean you cant get discount to cover it.
Personally, use www.broadspeed.com as an indicator of the price they can get you a UK car for including the extras you want, then go to your local stealer, sorry dealer, and ask him to pricematch. broadspeed supply UK cars and put you in touch with the dealer who will do it at that price, so dont let your local dealer go for the line 'we dont match internet prices'0 -
I don't like black..... just my 2p opinion0

£499 for gap insurance?!! I know dealers charge well over the odds for gap insurance compared to what you can get it for at places like click4gap, and depends on some variables....but £499?! I should think they could afford to knock that down a fair bit!0 -

LOL. Yeah i thought it was a bit OTT at the time too.0 -
Really??? .. no point in looking at your nice car on the side of the road broken down, waiting for the AA/Rac etc.
I could think of a lot of cars for £12500 that I would rather own than a Fabia. And I'm sure Skoda isn't immune from breaking down.
