I reversed into a car for the (first time) i phoned up and reported it, my dad said i may as well claim for my car aswell as no matter how many cars its still the one claim.
when i phoned up i was told £250, i had to agree i mean i cant turn the clock back. after i phoned up a few days later i was reading at my insurance it says.
an excess is the amount you must pay reguardless of whos to blame for an incident.
then has ages
less than 21 £250
21-24 £150
over 25 with a lisence for over a year £0
over 25 with provisional £250
am 21 so should the excess not be £150 or i am wrong ? , i have sat and read of over it so many times thinking i must be misreading this, i even got my dad to read it, he says well the way it sounds you should pay £150, i just don't want to phone up and make a fool of myself incase am wrong.

Those figures look like compulsory figures for young and/or inexperienced drivers. You may/will have a voluntary excess too, these will be added together to give the total excess.0
-
The excess only became payable when you claimed for your own car - if you hadn't done so, then the third party's car repairs would have been settled in full without any charge to you.0

it says 21-24 years old compulsary £150 + voluntary £0 = £1500 -

You mean if i didn't claim for my car there would be no charge ? it does reguardless of whos to blame you have to pay excess.
It was me that reversed into the other car in a car park.
sorry am not good with all this stuff, none of it makes sence, but don't want to pay an extra £100 if thats for under 21, when am past the teen stuff, am not some dangerous driver racer lol0 -
Were you under 21 when you toko the policy?
I think you need to ring them up and ask.0 -

I turned 21 on 24th april last year
i remember my insurance was running out on the 28th april, and told my dad i need help searching on the insurance compaire website as my insurance runs out today.
So it was taken out on the 28th april just after i turned 21.
Yea i might just ask them, just don't want to make a fool of myself incase it is £250, but i don't want to be overcharged by £1000 -

Correct.
The excess is only payable if you claim for damage done to your own car.
If you damage another person's property (as you did), then there is no excess to pay for their repairs.0 -

Check the schedule to see if there is a "normal" £100 excess for all drivers (ie anyone of any age).
(There probably is, otherwise the excess appears to be £nil for anyone over 25 from what you are saying)0 -

oh my gosh i don't even think there £250 of damage on my car, her car is dented on the door, and under it
mine theres scratches, and the pastic round the type is broken.
I am gona have to look into it, as it says no matter whos to blame reguardless you must pay, so what do they mean by that, i would have thought i still have to pay for her car damage ?0
