When I got Virgin installed years ago when it was Comcast I am sure the installer just removed the phone cable from my BT box and put it in the Virgin box?

I checked my BT box and there are no cables running in there now?

    Those would be your extensions.

So I should still have a BT line in if I use it from my master socket, is there anyway I can check if the BT line still exists?

Unscrew the front faceplate & then the are 2 screws behind that,Unscrew that & the should be a drop wire behind that then put it back together.DO NOT touch the drop wire!

    Update:

As well as the Telewest socket I've found 2 other sockets with no company name on so I'm assuming these are BT.

    Thanks for your help.

most bt sockets will have a logo on, so may not be a bt one. if not look outside your property for a wire from a bt pole, or bt undergroung feed , seeing where the wire enter the property,,,
successful with all my ppi claims

Or are these just extension sockets?

I dunno what they are, I'm just assuming they are BT.

I've requested the line be reactivated now and it should be working on the 2nd Feb so I guess I'll just wait and see! :)

Not much point in having the line reactivated if there is no master socket in the house...
I suggest you follow the cabling back and work out what the origin point is.
