And for thoses that love vaillant have a look on you tube at the case seal failure , POC (products of combustion) steaming all over the place and you could also have a look on flickr at my piccy , new main hex , new burner , new gas train , new gas valve , new air inlet , new seal

thats a common problem on the Vaillant ..they were recalled and should of had a new seal fitted (been to a number of these like this)guess they missed this one ..very easy fix

easy fix or not , it cost £800 to fix this boiler , and what about the crappy black hoses that just burst , the condensate seal at rear of heat ex . The main seal problems hasn`t been fix as its now the condensate d shaped seal that is failing at the front .

At weekend pump failure on vaillant ecotec 2 1/2 years old , 1 month prior PCB goes .

The 30min wait to speak to tech .

the seals should have been done before it caused the problems ..bg have a kit that we change when we go round if we see any with the old seal

even so to be honest vaillant are still one of bg better boilers (least breakdowns)
seems like everybody is making things to break now so they can sell more parts ..not good but ture i think

So let me get this right (reading between the lines here and interpolating/paraphrasing across your posts). Here is you a BG employee telling us that BG are selling substandard product, which they have bought very cheaply, at overinflated prices in order to be able to increase their business Additionally we know that maintenance contracts designed to cover these things are sold under which the first diagnosis is inevitably an expensive powerflush which are specifically excluded. Please tell me I'm wrong because if I am thats a total and utter disgrace.

    Cheers

    Hi All,

Had a quote for a Worcester Bosch combi 37CDi but looked around and am now considering the Viessmann 200-W 35kW (with weather compensation if the price is right). The quotes I've had for the WB options from this firm have been very competitive. Would it be silly to have them install a Viessmann if they are not Viessmann accredited (I know there will only be a 3 yr guarantee instead of a 5 yr one) - I'm awaiting their quote but I suspect it'll be competitive also. Are boilers so different that a WB installer could mess up a Viessmann installation?

    Comments appreciated!

Good evening: the Viessmann Vitodens 200 series is an excellent product...find a Viessmann trained installer for the 5 year P+L warranty...no problems with technical support..the OH has been fitting them for 3 years now.

i dont think i said any of them things ..yes bg buy things cheap (like any big company)and yes they mark them up and sell as many as they can (business)powerflush would only normally be advised if the engineer thinks that is worth doing ...
bg is a very good company and as a hole do a very good job and use the best engineers (all this costs money)can you get it cheaper ??the answer is proberly yes..would the job be as good ??normally i would say the job would not be as good ..(fact) i have like i said in other posts spent many years putting things right what plumbers do ...

You missed the bit of my post in brackets. Its a picture you've built up in my mind reading your posts. If I'm wrong thats OK - great stuff. However, it is an impression you have given me.

if i have then i am sorry about that ..if you asked me if bg overcharge then it really does depend on what value you put on having the job done right ..(in most cases )yes bg do charge a lot more than most but they normally do much more than most also ..(not everybody )there are some good plumbers out there i just dont meet them as often as i would like thats all ..
