If you've got a sky box, you can get a Sky remote control for the cost of a premium phone call (£1.50) Standard remote controls usually cost upwards of £12.

The remote control you get is a Sky navigator. If you're not familiar with these, they do everything a normal sky rcu will do, but you can flip open the top to reveal a keyboard to use for emailing etc. They used to retail for £20

How to order:

With your sky remote control
press "interactive",
select "sky active",
select "promotions".
select "navigaor for £1.50"

To order the navigator, your box needs to be connected to the phone line, the box calls a premium number which will cost £1.50, added to your phone bill.

I got mine OK, reasonably quickly. However although the battery light flashes, it doesn't work with my Sky+ Box. Followed the instructions to the letter (gadgets are no problem to me so I know I'm OK) but still not working. Is this gonna be a CS call or does anyone have any ideas?

I ordered another remote about 10 days ago. It came this morning. That's my second - I ordered the first one back in July.

You need to change the remote to work with Sky+ - it took me a while. SOmething to do with button holding and setting to "1" rather than "0". It took a few goes for mine to sort itself out. Keep trying.

Got my second one today - there appears to be NO limit on how many you can order - excellent for an XMAS present for those who can't work out how to order or know the offers on!
