Means it cannot see your hard drive.
Have you changed the Bios
Dropped or jarred the laptop?
If not I suggest you check the HDD is seated properly in its cradle.Computers are like me, I get up in the morning and work...until I stop.0 -
I googled it and some people are saying that you can solve this by turning the ;laptop upside down and giving it a firm tap or two near the center ..Not enough to hurt your hand is the rough guide ..
Others say take the hard drive out and push it back in again ..The hard drive will be under a removeable ( with a screw) cover
This does sound a bit lame but might be worth a try0 -
Thank you. Haven't droped it but I go top floor and down to living room holding it open wide. I mean don't treat it like a baby. It went down as I was working. Will try up side down menu. Sounds exciting. Does it mean I have lost all data ?0

Post back if it works0

it may not mean that your data is lost - just simply that your laptop cannot see the harddrive - if you had unplugged your harddrive then you would get the same result. Easiest way is as said above - make sure the hard drive is seated correctly in its socketDon't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0

If your drive is not recognised because it has died then there is a good chance unless your a millionaire that the data is lost.
If however the hard drive which is probably a S-SATA type has worked lose then your data will be fine when it is back in position.Computers are like me, I get up in the morning and work...until I stop.0 -
Upside down and poking it it seem to make computer search for it. But harddrive done nothing I swear I ll poke it till finger goes through. Lol0

On the underside of the laptop you will see a small plastic panel measuring approx 4" x 3". Likely to be secured by two screws. Remove this. The hard drive will be held in a "Caddy". The screws that hold this caddy to the base need removing.
Once removed pull the hard drive back and remove it. Start the PC without it in place. Turn the PC off. Next time you switch it on you will have replaced the hard drive making sure it is fully forward on its connectors and the new DMI data will be sent to search for it. If lucky your pc will start. If not we need to look at other alternatives
