Any HPCers on here?

Used to post on there, haven't been banned because I mostly posted on economic / market topics. Just got bored of the group think and general all round mouth frothing at anybody moderately successful.
I don't know why they just don't rename it something like "misanthropes r us.com", seems more apt.0 -
Ex HPCer here....
It used to be a great place for debate, now it's just full of miserable bassas!!0 -
I love the way any bit of bad news has them puffing out their chests predicting 50% falls and going on about how clever they are. Take last few weeks for example. The news was bearish. Suddenly it all changed with the 0.2% rise.
Instantly they were hammered down again. Busted beyond repair. Their big push failed again.
It's all quiet on there now. I can imagine Bruce Banner kicking a can up the street with his hands in his pockets. Paying some yuppies mortgage and full of bitterness. I think a couple of months of modest rises will finally kill the HPC gang off for good. The sites not really about the housing market anyway. They have proved they don't know what they are talking about many times.
No, it's actually a forum of losers with chips on their shoulders. I laugh when I think of how their mates have humiliated them at house parties. They have had a right hammering. Some fellow buys a house and doubles his money. He invites Bruce Banner and co over and rams it up them making them feel like second class citizens. :rotfl:
Love it. If only they would come over to mine for the evening. :mad:We love Sarah O Grady0 -

HPC stopped being purely about, well, an HPC a long time ago, it's more of a "I hate anyone who is more successful than me, or works in the public sector, or is a homeowner" hatesite. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Could someone kindly post in the About housepricecrash.co.uk forum with the subject name as my user name, and ask a moderater to check my account? Pretty please!
I can't pretend that I know much about that website but as an outsider my (novice) opinion is that it is just a bear club that comfort each other with falsehoodsChuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

I dont know about anyone else but I'd rather visit a site where everyone disagreed with me than agreed with me. When it comes to life altering financial decisions, its always better to think about them 3 times, then rethink then rethink again before you commit.
However, once you have committed, you have to see it through. I cant describe the voyage of the damned that I travelled before I finally bought this house, being somewhat conservative by nature. :eek:0 -

But be prepared to change tack. There's far too much complancy around after 16 years of unbroken economic growth.0 -

Every decision needs to be reviewed periodically to see if it needs altering, but often people can over analyse things and can end up nervous wrecks.
With my decision, my period of being a nervous wreck was between having our offer accepted on this mansion and moving in. Now that I'm busy renovating both parts of the properties, I'm happy as anything.
Mine was a decision that I cant easily back out of though, so it needed careful consideration and a lot of analysis on what the various pundits thought about the direction of interest rates. What would be counter productive would be to sit and wring my hands worrying if I made the worng decision. The decision is made, now I'm getting on with it.
So far, so good.0 -

I`ve seen certain bulls "thwapping" themselves into a frenzy with a 0.3% rise in asking prices.
What is it about bulls that makes them want to shout from the rooftops how "right" they were, or how much equity they have ? Are they making up for something lacking in their lives ?
Personally, I find that characteristic rather unpleasant. Luckily, most of my friends and family don`t exhibit any of this "me, me, me" attitude, and can see beyond the message "higher house prices = good". Friends with children are usually quite concerened about the cost of property ownership/rental, and to a degree I share that concern.
And the bulls can throw as much of their 5h*t in my direction as they like, but I`m not a doom monger, I own my property, and therefore am a rather unusual bear.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0
