I enjoy reading HPC whenever any positive economic news or data is reported in the mainstream media, just to laugh at how they will attempt to discredit it as government/VI manipulation of figures or BBC VI reporting.

Other than that there seems to be a lot of self congratulatory threads about how much clever they were to STR, and that renting really is so much better and cheaper than paying mortgage interest (even at current low rates). Makes me wonder though, if renting is so flippin' great, why spend half your life on a forum obsessing about how much houses cost to buy?!

I liked it when they did a big investigation on who I was in real life.

They decided I was a fellow called Marcus Monger who worked at Sibley Pares estate agents in Maidstone. They even got his photo up :rotfl:

As it goes, I miss the giggle on there. I never really took it seriously and it's a shame the Mods did. Had many a chuckle on there in past.
I'd like to think I've twisted Eric, Bloo Loo and co up.

All my research has been done in the staff canteen.

Well, if that makes you happy.

    It shows.
30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.
  • Oh look at me. I got banned by HousePriceCrash.co.uk. I've gotten on with my life though and hardly ever mention it.

Yes, I'm not bitter about it at all... Not half.....

You're not another HPC reject, are you?

The ironic thing is that I'd never even have heard about HPC if it hadn't been for all the HPC rejects coming to MSE and going on about HPC all the time. I almost want to visit HPC just to see what all the fuss is about. :rotfl:

If you read a few of Hamish troll posts on here you can clearly see see why they all got booted out. They should just be grateful MSE took them in and shut to fook up about HPC once and for all.

I have indeed been banned by HPC, although they didn't do me the elementary courtesy of warning, explanation or notice.

By all means visit HPC, just realise that the reason they all agree is because all dissent is verboten. Not because their arguments have any veracity, after all, if they did they wouldn't need to ban the dissenters so vigorously.

It's wholly accurate though. If they miss HPC so much then they should contact the moderators of HPC and beg to be taken back, offer them money, do whatever they !!!!!!! have to do. But stop going on about it all the time on a totally different web site. And if they understandably don't want you back then get !!!!!!! over it!

    1. You can't contact the mods as your PM doesn't work
    2. We don't necessarily want to go back, just want people to know that they ban all dissent because their arguments have no veracity, not to be taken in.

The site's on its knees. I guess profits from the advertising have bought the owner a nice little home somewhere with a bit left over to snap up some cheap BTL's.
they sold out quite a while ago in 2006 - i wouldn't have thought that they would still be fighting the HPC corner anymore but drinking a few mojitos by a pool somewhere. good on them!!

TheCountOfNowhere posts some great stuff demonstrating a complete lack of understanding about pretty much everything. Bruce is just bitter that he's still left renting long after the event. I don't think the poor chap will ever get over it.

    Brightens up my day.

Here's today's response regarding the upsetting news about Acadametrics +0.2%:
Google the hometrack survey. It's much more bearish
