Cheers. Thought it was an agent running on the machine.

What do you use instead of Defender?

    I dont

The best prevention of nasties is to use common sense

If I felt I might have an infection the first thing I turn to is Malwarebytes

    Welcome to the boards merhaba

Interesting thread, all I can add is just use commense sense, be wary and DON'T PANIC! if you get in a situation.

I would download CCleaner if you don't have it already, a good site for safe downloads is at filehipp.com

You may or may not know this already but windows has a basic av installed in it's OS called Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool which you can run by typing mrt in your run/search box.
It is a basic feature but may possibly? help if you have problems running your av or god forbid you don't have an av already (I've come across a few people who have not or never update their av :( )

It gets updated and runs via the monthly MS updates, usually the 2nd Tuesday of the month, AKA patch Tuesday.
    Move along, nothing to see.

Yep spud is correct, its updated with the windows updates but it is quite basic compared to other AVs.

You asked earlier about sites to learn more about security.........bleepingcomputer.com is very good for info
