Legally I am allowed to make a backup copy of my wii games but how do i do this? Do i simply copy them using a dvd burner or do i need to do something else? Tried looking online but most plaes want to sell you software to do this - and i don;t know if i need it.

Its an extremely grey area "legally". The law actually conflicts with itself and its never been proved to our knowledge who would win. If i were you keep away from it.

In short though, you can't... easily.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -
Don't know if you were trying to be helpful or just sarcastic - I am not an idiot - I LOOKED online but there were so many different sites - as i said mainly trying to sell u THEIR software. Copyright law states that the owner is allowed to legally make a backup copy for their own use - since games are so expensive - having a backup copy makes a lot of sense. I was asking HOW to do it not whether to do it or not.
IF u were tryng to help then thanks0 -
you could try imgburn "create image file from disc" then "write image file to disc", but i think this may only work with standard data and steam games0

the link provided links you to a tutorial :think:0

Hi, A good question. I have a wii here and copier programs, on my way to find out. Back to report later.0

Too complicated really. gamecopyworld explains it for the PC and there are so many protection systems on the CDs/DVDs it's not really worth the hassle. Don't think gamecopyworld has anything about the wii's though.
Also the backups won't work in the Wii anyway unless you get it chipped.0 -
Totally pointless exercise unless you are going to modify your Wii to play the discs you create.0

To be fair i was trying to point out that the first result led you to a reliable site with a good tutorial and links for any software. As for your legal right, did you know that the manufacturers have the legal right to copyright their goods, and you copying the game is technically conflicting that. As i said its grey, the law conflicts with itself, its up to you what yo do but its best to stay away from it all and just teach yourself and anybody else how to care for discs correctly, i have all my old ps1 collection in mint condition, an extra second to put it in a case is a lot less time than backing up.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -
It's only a firmware change. Kazzea - you are asking on the wrong forum.0
