I made the usual bread rolls for lunch
Small bakewell tarts, with some half price bramble jelly from Sainsbury's
A chocolate cake with yummy ganache filling. I had to adapt the recipe a bit because I only had 23gm of ground almonds left, it came out a bit 'rustic' :D but delicious none the less.

Really productive day today as it has rained non stop and I could not face leaving the house!

Bread rolls, jam crumblie, chocolate muffins, lemon drizzle cake and shortbread biscuits.
Also made two lots of soup for this week's lunches - had some for lunch with bread rolls fresh from the oven while rain lashed at the windows - lovely:j
Original mortgage £112,000 . Final payment due August 2027.
Mortgage neutral achieved August 2020 - 7 years early!!!
  • Have made my christmas cake and a ginger/lemon drizzle cake which has way to many calories to count
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.
  • Belated post again - made bacon cheese and egg pasties yesterday, had for breakfast today too. Used leftover pastry to make little olive and pesto swirls, which have been frozen and can use to garnish soup etc over the winter :)
I love food, hate waste and have a penchant for sparkly things ::D

  • Seeing as it costs more to heat the oven up than to maintain the temperature I got a bit of a production line going. 2 banana loaves, 1 loaf of soda bread and a chicken and ham pie, all made with ingredients either procured from freeganing, reduced tickets or leftovers with the exception of salt, bicarb and dried parsley.
  • Making a fruit slice/fly cemetry,using this recipe:

I had two egg whites to use up yesterday so made some amaretti biscuits (from a Gino D'Acampo recipe). I seem have accidentally eaten half of them already :(

Coffee cake, Gordon Ramsay recipe. Disappointed there wasn't a stronger coffee taste from the cake. Otherwise pretty good.
  • I baked a pear and almond upside down cake, based on a mango one from a cookbook. Smells gorgeous can't wait to slice it up and try!
