    Hiya Jo,

    I've been up late too!

    Hope you're well.

    What is 'Huffing'?!

I remember you posting on here, when I used to chip in on this thread a bit a couple of years back.

    Good to 'see' you :-)

I went back to AA last Saturday - still in two minds about it.. having been in and out of 'the rooms' for the best part of 10 years.

Have finally decided to try and 'not pick up that first drink' now, as nearly lost my flat in Jan..

After a Mad bender, ending in my being sick in my sleep, in bed (while my Girlfriend was also in the bed at the time...yuck huh?..) I'm now proud to say Im two weeks sober flas of today.. Yay!

Jobless, but fairly happy and positive about making a healthier, more successful, sober future :-)

    So Jo, how's you?

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

    Hi Leigh

The thing with AA is that you have to want it enough. Many people NEED it, but only those that WANT it succeed.
That gift of desperation is a very powerful motivator
Many people are frequent relapsers, who spend decades going in and out. Some of them finally get it eventually, and others unfortunately do not.

It sounds like you have now decided to try not to drink, and that is a big step. That decision must come from within, and you have to stick with it if you want AA to work. Admitting you're alcoholic and willing to do anything to stay sober is key. Good luck and congrats on your 2 weeks sober.
More meetings = more insurance against drinking.
