Evening everyone. Wow, some great posts on here today. GC - you're fab, as always. And I love how everyone is so supportive. HB I know exactly what you mean - I had a dreadful month last month in terms of being AF - but since 1st April have managed to stay away from the booze. Isn't it weird? As GC says, you can start afresh any time. That reminds me of a poem I read lately, if I find it I'll post it on here. I'm still reeling from the shock of the vet bill this morning - £85 - nearly enough to drive me to drink ... poor doggie has an ear infection and an infection at the other end (sorry if anyone's eating their tea), came home with a bagful of tablets and creams (eeugh).Sober October = 0 alcohol free days

Thanks HB. I found that poem, here it is:
The chief beauty about time is that you cannot waste it in advance.
The next year, the next day, the next hour are lying ready for you,
as perfect, as unspoiled, as if you had never wasted or misapplied
a single moment in all your life.

Oh you litle rock chick, you...
Just posed this on this site on the DFW forum so thought I'd share:
Oh so many things for me; what APR actually meant, what a credit card really was (ie.more debt!), the effects & timescale of consolidation etc etc etc...
Most of all I wish I'd known somewhere as supportive & non-judgemental as this forum. I can remember admitting to my debts when I was much younger to parents & a few others & getting loads of abuse thrown at me, along with a fair heap of disappointment. The effect on me was that I stopped talking aboiut my debts, hid my spending & it's taken years for me to open to anyone else about anyth.ing financial. I still struggle now.
This site is (pardon the pun) a wealth of information & this site especially is full of such nice, supportive & helpful people. I may have got there late but at least I'm on my way now :A@ LBM = £15,872.65, now £10,819.82AF Jan = 7/? Oh dear, that's a tear-jerker...
Thank you, it's beautiful. I'll print it off & keep on my noticeboard@ LBM = £15,872.65, now £10,819.82AF Jan = 7/? Feb = 5/14 Mar = 14/20 Apr = 6/14 May = 2/14 June 2/14 July 0/TF Aug 1/TFv Sept 6/TF Oct 4/7"NEVER DOUBT YOUR OWN QUALITY"0 -

Well I managed to entertain the kids today
Took them to a local beach which is accessable from a path from the top of the cliffs
( We are talking 5 miles from the White cliffs of Dover so quite high ).
Mistake #1 was the fact that we did not have appropiate footwear indeed my youngest DD had her new shoes on that we got yesterday and she did not want to get them muddy.
Mistake # 2 not taking any notice of the previous rainfall and not realising that the path down was a mud slide so had to carry DD on back.
Mistake # 3 not realising that the clingy mud sticks to the bottom of your shoes and is not good adhesion when stepping on a large stone
Eventually made it to beach but realising the distance to get to the road home Daddy decided to take a short cut up a very faint path that lead up the cliffs. Strode off like Bush tucker man and desended again an hour later beaten back by brambles, Bees the size of spitfires and terrain that would beat the Royal Marines in exactly the same spot we started from
Swallowed my pride, followed the road I knew and fortified by a Crunchie Ice Cream and 2 Flake cornettos made it back to my car. Would have been cheaper to get a Taxi
My DDs look at me now with a very distrusting look and were not happy especially when they were impailed on brambles the size of Zulu spears and may take a while to get their trust back
That was my day so having a beer to chill so yet to post AF yet but feeling positive for tomorrow
Edit...No I will be AF Tomorrow0 -

Agreed that is beautiful :A
Ms Honey B you are getting your debt down and you are making really good progress. I know what you mean about having the support on here, I thankfully am not in debt. But when Mr Budgie did not have a job some 21 months ago, I think if I had not of found this site then I probably would not have adjusted my spending like I did.
So this site helps people who are already in debt and it helps people who are not in debt, to stay out of debt.
So keep up all of your hard work and realise that your story helps so many other people too. :A You are our very own lovely care bear :A Bear hugs (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
