    Hi all,

Another MAD evening for me so that's 9 for me please Shaggy.

And the first 22 hours and 10 mins of the 72 hour challenge HB. :)

I'm still finding the MADness difficult. :(I've done 4 in a row and thought
each day would be easier but I have a crisis point between about 7 and
8:30 in the evening. I have what GC calls the "debating society" in my head and it drives me nuts. I think I'm certain I won't drink then all of
a sudden all the ideas/excuses/reasons why I can/should/must drink pop
up!. I have just managed to get past that though each day so onward and upward but it is very upsetting when it happens.

Anyway, I do hope everyone is ok. Thanks to RA for your inspirational post.

So what's wrong with drinking pop?:rotfl:

    Have a Great Day!
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

I know exactly what you mean.
The debating society can take a long time to shut up, and can increase in volume as the days go on. However it sounds like you are navigating through it successfully. :T
I had to accept it, and know it was going to start up. I found that easier than fighting it (as it would often win as I would end up with a drink in my hand). Eventually I had had enough, so reached out for help. Now the debating society has gone. The desire to drink has been lifted from me (for today only)
This took a change in myself.
It was worth it - the inner peace and serenity is priceless, as is the sound of silence. I got to bed last night without drinking. I also put my head on the pillow without the desire to drink affecting my actions or mood.
