Sparkles, great to have you back, don't beat yourself up, you've just discovered that you don't like drinking anymore!

I know - how strange it is at this stage. Although I often thought about stopping drinking I never believed that I could do it - now I think I can do it which is a strange phase to see that I no longer like the taste. Even though I have stopped before for 3months I always liked the taste.

May still be a moderater in the future - will take it day be day to remain AF for the rest of the month. Loving the AF mornings now all week - definately feel better due to that and that is what reminded me the day after I drank the bottle of wine.

Meaning better go to Mr S and get some pop to keep me going

    Basics Orange Squash
    Basics Orange Juice
Some fizzy pop - if there is any on offer
NOTW - free energy saver thingy

Catch you all later, have a good day today in the springtime!

    :hello:

Hope you're still awake wbf! I think you're doing ever so well on alternate days, particularly if RL is stressy. That means (obviously:o) that half of every month is AF. I'd love to achieve that but I really hate the idea of not being able to have wine at weekends. I am pleased with keeping reasonably moderate on drinking days as I was afraid I'd just play catch-up. My tolerance is definitely lower since cutting-down and, sad to say, my sleep patterns haven't really improved. Anyway here's a special :T for you. It's good to 'talk' to a fellow cutter-downer.

Hope you're still not out dog-catching marru and that he came back safe and sound.

Well done to everyone on your MAD behaviour.

Good day here, not much doing except post-holiday washing and a lovely roast for later.

Another flying visit but I have now caught up with the thread - so much has been happening!
I have just one more day to add so I am now on 15 AFD please. Next week will be AF for sure as I have a lot on and must get back to the healthy eating too.
    Enjoy the rest of Sunday...
    Trying to keep in budget.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Blimey! I've only gone and done some exercise (the first time in a long time!) to make me feel better (and I do!)

This is my target for next week -

Remain AF and MAD for 7 days Mon-Sun
    Exercise plan for Week 1
    Mon - CV (25mins)
    Tues - Yoga (30mins)
    Wed - CV (25mins)
    Thurs - Yoga (30mins)
    Fri - CV (30mins)
    Sat - Pilates

I wanted to start exercising for ages and haven't had the motivation to do so. When I was on holiday I thought it over and decided when I returned home it would be a new start alongside my AFness and MADness

Let's see if I can stick to it, then might even start running again for the first time in 6 years! Excited to do this!

I have a load of exercise stuff that lays around unused after I packed in my unused gym membership in. Meaning it no spends required for now (unless I start running again and will need some new trainers :D)

Forgot to mention that when I watched The Million Pound Bike Ride it was Davina that surprisingly inspired me

When they ended the first part of the ride and celebrated with a whisky and Davina exclaimed 'I don't even drink!'

When she completed a difficult part and was in tears and said 'I enjoyed it!'

It reminded me of how I felt when I had completed some difficult challenging tasks and how I thought I want to feel like this again

Now the alcohol is more or less out of my body with 4 drinking days out of 2 months I can feel some emotions returning even out of reduced drinking as it was last year.

It is making me remember how I used to feel without alcohol playing such a dominent part in my life and it feels good once again

Lets hope the good feeling lasts and the motivation lasts

  • One more for me so that's 5 please Shaggy.

    Hi all,

Good luck with all the exercising Sparkles.
Well done to Bubble too for 7 days.

Was AF last night and felt brilliant this morning. So clear headed.
I never think I have hangovers but when I don't drink and sleep
reasonably well, I really feel the difference. Not AF tonight.
I was thinking about what you wrote WBF. You have done brilliantly
to stick to your plan to drink only every other day. But I can see why
that may not be enough for you now. If you feel much better after the AF days then it makes you wonder! Me too! I so identify with alcohol affecting your willpower and saying !!!!!! and ordering pizza! Totally sabotages the diet. Sounds like you may want to make some more changes and good luck to you on that whatever you decide.

    Happy Sunday evening everyone.

Hi everyone. Announcing 7/27 please Shaggy cos deffo not drinking tonight. In fact have been drinking lots of water today cos I feel I need to flush out my system after a bad week or so. Fresh start from today - need to get back on track both with being AF and healthy eating. Break up for Easter on Wednesday (woohoo!) so in much better mood than last week. Have a lovely Sunday evening everyone xx
