Thanks for all the damp comments & suggestions, peeps :)

I've bought a couple of humidifying things as an interim. Am checking out my insurance situation as I will need to replace furniture but I'm not hopeful... Will also need to inform the landlord

Need to go & clean the walls in a minute. The thought is making me sick :(

Would love there to be wine... :o

  • Well, I did a week.

That's the pinnacle of my achievement, however.

    Am drinking today, unfortunately.

I was (as usual) very clumsy and I managed to smash half a bottle of vodka onto the kitchen floor, whilst "topping up" and thus alerted my OH to my misfortune (in every sense of the word).

So I was totally found out and I am now feeling ashamed and as low as a badger's !!!!.

The enormity of my sighs and bad feelings can't be translated into type...........

    Hugs to all,

    Caz

But you did a week so :T

So, as they say on Mastermind 'you've started so you may as well finish'. If there's any vodka left (i.e. it's not all over the floor) have a night off and then do another week!!!

I know some will say pour it down the sink but that's my take on how I'd handle it.

Congratulations on your week, Caz :)

The walls no longer like a breeding ground for strange furry things. Have no bicarb so it will have to be a step at a time. The carpet is beyond saving with bleach - need Stardrops!

No insurance cover so will have to work out how I can afford a new bookcase/shelving unit & chest of drawers or similar for clothes. Also need to get rotten mouldy ones out of flat & find some vaguely orderly way of keeping the books & clothes that aren't damaged.

Needless to say I do not have insurance for this... *sigh*

Oh HB you need lots and lots of :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

Obviously if it really is damp then maybe you've got some sort of claim against the landlord. Unfortunately I think it's more likely to be condensation from heat indoors and freezing outside this winter. Oh poor you. I think I see a visit to Ikea coming on. Billy bookcases are fab!

    Thanks, hon :D

I'm sure it's condensation from excessive heating due to the cold & drying washing etc. I will let my landlord know as a courtesy thing & also to point out that the ventilation in there isn't much good & the whole heating system is pants, but that's about it.

Weirdly, I'm on the Ikea website right now! :rotfl:
