Just got back from the abattoir again. Thats it - no more large animals to keep apart from the two 'pet' goats. No more piggies, no more lambs or goats. However, Mrs BHB is hatching so many eggs that we will soon be over run with poultry :eek::eek:
Busy weekend I guess, getting the piece of land that the pigs were on ready for the vegetables.
Crispy duck anyone ?

Morning all,
Fell off wagon last night which I feel draws a line under the most miserable AF time I've had to date. I have spent the last few weeks feeling like a dry drunk, so miserable and down. Plus ultimately I knew it was gonna happen too, just didn't know when. Consequently (sp?) feeling a little bit yuck this morning, had a terrible nights sleep, woke at 3am and couldn't get back to sleep, dehydrated etc etc...and I didn't have any idea the dawn chorus started so early and went on for so long!!
I'm over it, I can move on now.
Got so much to do today so prob won't have a chance to be around much. Hope you all have a good day. Welcome back to oldies and hi to newbies:wave:

This is why I believe (for some of us), giving up alcohol is not enough. There has to be a fundamental change in our psyche too.
Being a dry drunk is a miserable existence, and not much better than drinking.
Giving up alcohol is very very difficult without a profound change.
I can only think of a handful of people who have given up for a prolonged length of time since joining this thread - many people manage a few weeks or even months, and then go back to alcohol.
For the vast majority of people - if they miss alcohol when not drinking, they will drink again in the future. I know for me I have to be happy about not drinking, not pining and missing alcohol. Otherwise I will drink again.
Alcoholism is an illness where we know the consequences of our drinking, and know we shouldn't do it, but still drink regardless.
What are you going to try now Jo? Using will power doesn't seem to be working for you, and the more times you fall off the wagon, the more it depressing it is0 -
I live by the theme 'your never a failure until you stop trying' the only time you know you have truly cracked an addiction is when your put in the ground still free of it.. told to me by an ex herion addict who was 32 years clean when they put him in the groundget rid of all the pounds by summer !!
