Iphone Battery Life

Wel I have one as well and with time you will actually get used to the battery consumption because like a fellow forum member has already stated with time I believe you will find out that strangely your usage actually comes down to in line with the phones battery consumption but the order of the day for me is constantly turning the phone airplane mode on and off when not using it and turning on and off 3g and I must admit as a result of the awful signal I have t use my iPhone as a second phone my HTC hero picks up better signal so I always have them 2 cause in my line of work when on call I need to be in reach but the iPhone used to let me down, sorry for going astray here but these to me are the biggest flaws of the ifrown let's hope they sort it out with a new update but I wouldn't hold my breath on that one cause I think the problems are more hardware than software .0

Try the latest blackberry bold 9700 looking at 4 or 5 days with constant playing about on it battery is a very strong point on thisIts normal for the latest generation phones to have a shorter battery life than older phones. My Palm Pre absolutely has to be charged every day or it will run out of battery. You may find it helps to fully charge the phone, and then drain the battery as fast as possible by playing music out loud through the phone continuously, and then charging again.
If you still get no luck and the results aren't what you had hoped for, you should go to your nearest Appl Store and go from there.

Yes the battery life is pretty poor. But heck I use the phone more for non-phone stuff - games, email, apps, skype etc. I am under no illusions that the battery will drain really quickly.
I have my charger at home to charge it every night and i have a small lead that recharges it at work from my laptop. So i get by fine.
I much prefer the functionality of what I have - if the battery life was longer but there was less functionality or speed, I would be less happy.
If you want a phone to be just a phone, you shouldn't be getting an iphone. If you want a phone to do everything like the iphone that is compromise you make.
For the record, I love it and the battery life you get used to ...
Finally, there is no task killer application on the iphone - little point if you can only have one application at a time anyway. BUT if you get an application that has crashed, keep your finger on the on/off button until the power off screen comes up. Then keep the home key pressed down until you end up back at the app screen. The application should now be killed.0 -
I've got an iPhone 3GS and I'd probably describe myself as a fairly heavy user.
One of the first things I brought for it in terms of accessories was a Juice Pack (juicepack.co.uk/batteries/juice-pack-airtm-iphone-3g-and-3g-s.html - £59.99) which clips onto the back of your phone really nicely and takes the battery life up to virtually twice the battery life of the iPhone on it's own.
Here's the stats for those who are interested:
Phone 3GS: Standby - Up to 270 hours/Talk Time: Up to 4.5 hours on 3G/Internet: Up to 4.5 hours on 3G/Audio: Up to 27 hours/Video: Up to 9 hours
iPhone 3G: Standby - Up to 270 hours/Talk Time: Up to 4.5 hours on 3G/Internet: Up to 4.5 hours on 3G/Audio: Up to 20 hours/Video: Up to 6 hours
Well recommended.

An interesting fact about rechargeable batteries which not a lot of people know is that they have a "memory"
When you first charge them up you must always fully charge them ie. if they say charge for 12 hours or whatever always make sure you do
What happens is that if you only charge them say 70% when it goes flat and you recharge it then it will only recharge to 70% etc etc.
A problem when someone gets a new phone is that sometimes they can't wait to use it etc and end up with a battery that is sub capacity.
It's always the first charge that's the most important one. It's not just about the money0 -
Actually, if you get the right kind of re-chargeable battery, (Juice Packs are lithium polymer not lithium-Ion) they don't have a memory at all.
The great thing about the Juice Pack is that it will recharge for at least 500 cycles, and these are full cycles. If you partially power it up to say, 10% of a full charge, this doesn't count as a full cycle and you can effectively do this ten times before it will.
