My son's best friend (17) died a couple of weeks ago and we suspect this game was the cause. So sad.

Thank you for bringing this frightening 'game' to my attention - I have never heard of it before. Petition signed.0

I've never heard of this and it was only a few years ago that I left school
Makes you very wary of letting children out to play though!

This was a craze at my school 30 years ago. It was called the fainting game.It didn't involve ligatures, we used chest compression after a short period of rapid exercise, very similar method to Battybird, but it involved squat thrusts. It is the only time I have ever fainted. I didn't realise that it had taken on this very sinister turn.
I don't remember it being a high or a pleasant experience.0 -
My concern with this is that spreading awareness could actually prompt some people to try the game...I hope this doesn't happen.0

My DS has just told me that Derren Brown did something similar on stage with a plastic bag - now that is VERY worrying.0

I didn't have a clue that this was so widespread. Thanks for raising awareness, petition signed.S/W -1, *-1.5, +1:o, -1/2, *-2, -2.5,0
