How tragic. I have signed the petition.
I remember this "game" being played in our junior girls school playground, in the mid 60's. I let someone do it to me,once.
I remember squatting down on all fours and breathing very heavily(like panting) I then stood up and my friend squeezed me under my ribs until I passed out. I woke up feeling, probably, high.
I can't remember the consequences at school, whether we were found out. I have a slight recollection that kids decided it may be dangerous and stopped doing it, thank god.0 -
I can remember my friend and I coming across a group of girls in our school playing this age around 13 in the early seventies. Forgotten all about it until I read this, never heard of it re my own kids when they were at school.0

fgs thats not a game, what is the matter with some children these days! From these stupid shag bands to this. Ridiculous. Is this what kids need to do now, as some sort of 'rite of passage'? I am very sorry to read of the lads death, such a pointless waste.:starmod:Sealed Pot Challenge Member 1189:starmod:0

Sorry to hear about your friend's son. This game was around when I was at High School (started there in 1986) and we certainly never thought about the dangers of it.0

Very very sad. Have signed and posted both links to FB.
Will be having a good talk to my two teenage boys tonight.
I work in a secondary school and my husband is a teacher and we have never heard of this. Thanks for brining this to our attention x0 -
How awful. I first heard this about 6 months ago as a number of children died from it. I had assumed the schools would be sending letters to parents etc to warn them and so they could speak to their children etc. I guess not. Apparently children were giving out instructions to each other on "how to do it properly" to avoid choking and just to get a "high". Its really awful. Ive signed a previous petition about this and will do the same with yours. So sorry to hear about this latest tragedy.:smileyhea0
