Bookie - could you try another church?
The vicar in my local one is so lovely - he used to do "holiday" type cover for the vicar at my old church. and I preferred our regular vicar. I went to a couple of more local churches at christmas and recognised this vicar, then found out it was his church! I've decided he really is so kind and caring, and the majority of the congregation are so welcoming. They've made me feel very at home, so despite having married in my "old" church, I've switched to this new one. I'm still getting used to some of their different ways, but feel very welcomed.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -
A vicar ignoring someone who is having a rough time.
There is something badly wrong with this picture..."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
My car tax runs out in a few days. I guess I should SORN it until it is officially written off and the DVLA are told - otherwise I'll get an £80 fine!

That's brilliant! I might have to write that out and stick it up somewhere!'He's also very stuck on 'normal'. It's not normal to have a duvet in the living room to save on putting the heating on, so it's wrong. It's not normal to have to sit down to shower, so it's wrong....'
Oooh that sounds very familiar. As my common-in-law-sister-in-law says to my dad 'Must be nice to be perfect'.
Last time he was here he said 'When was the last time you dusted?' to which I replied 'When were you last here?'

Haha, so familiar, he had a go about me not vaccing, so I went and got the vac and did a bit. He asked if it was the one that he gave me and I thought 'yes, and you've just seen it used for the first time since then'
He wasn't actually as bad as I expected, he's even said if I can't manage the shelves he'll come back and do them. He was going to do them today, but pointed out that they stick out so far that they'd be a danger, so I need to think of somewhere else to put them.Hellooooo!! :j
Just got back from a lovely 4.5 mile 'hilly' (for me) run, really enjoyed it and feel great! All the more surprising as I'm basically on day 3 of CD, so should be feeling dreadful! :rotfl: Maybe I bypassed that bit by not eating for 4 days while I was ill!
Need to go and buy some plant pots to put the courgettes in as they have grown so fast they are touching the top of the propagator - will have a kitchen windowsill full of vegetable plants for the next 3 months until they can go outside. Next time, I really must read the instructions. :rotfl:
But first, I think I have earned a bath, a rest and a banana shake!
Courgette plants grow huuuuuge, I got some little ones early last summer and they ended up nearly as big as my (small) raised bed. It's so good to be able to nip out and pick your own for tea though!Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Thanks Pooky - the only plastic bottles I tend to have are tonic bottles and I haven't been drinking much so don't have any...I should correct that!
Sounds like a lovely walk, really wish I lived near the coast sometimes.
I am studiously ignoring the roast chicken and trimmings bit, I definitely don't want that...really...
Kayleigh, no pain no gain eh? :rotfl:
I'll fit in with whatever plans everyone else is happy with re cars/parking/collecting people - off work all day and don't have the kids so it wont be a problem. Really must try to get rid of the 'nappy' smell from my car if I'm driving other people in it though! :rotfl:
Sounds like a brilliant excuse to drink more! And we all need to get in training for Bunny's party.
Becky, well done!
BB, don't you just love men's logic...
Hmm, now Linda's mentioned salmon I think I really fancy that for tea, hopefully if I get a piece out now it'll defrost in time. Salmon, loads of roast veg and some home made low fat chips sounds perfect!Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Yes, bit worried my kitchen is going to end up looking like a scene from 'Day of the Triffids' but it will be worth it.
Mr S is coming round on 12th March to help me transform half of the huge side garden into a vegetable patch. And then we are going to have dinner and get drunk.
Ohhh, and I am going to a dinner party at his house on the 19th Feb, so I can meet 5 of his best friends. :T"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
These are are still chewy and soft and no added sugar - they are lovely
I always hurt my teeth on banana chips
One of the graze selections has chewy banana in it, I found it a bit odd to start with but it's nice. I prefer fresh or chipped ones though.bookseller1980 wrote: »Hi.

Collected MORE washing from DD2.
Need to tidy up.
That doesn't sound very vicar-ly.hi everyone
Buffy - glad you are feeling better, hopefully you will enjoy your next few nights out and find some talent for :kisses2: (I had to use the smiley I found, sorry).
I'm so nervous about taking out a new mobile phone contract. It should save me money, but they are such a long term commitment - 2yrs these days  so I worry what if we get made redundant etc? I do need to replace the phone as my current one is so many years old that the battery is rubbish. My usage is too high for PAYG, so contract seems sensible. Just too many choices and I can't find the perfect package.
Also must clean fridge today.
Someone on my ebay has asked if they can pay by cheque or postal order as they have had problems with paypal. This is a new one to me - any thoughts?
Actually, you have more protection with a cheque. If someone pays by paypal they can say it's not been received and Paypal automatically sides with them and refunds. It's a lot harder for them to get a refund if it's paid by cheque or PO. Also, there's been a lot of problems lately with people getting charged for using Paypal. They're based in Luxembourg so some banks (mine included, natwest apparantly are the worst) are classing it as an overseas transaction, even though it's in sterling to a UK seller, and slamming on charges. I get charged £1.50 now, so have had to stop using ebay. HTH.
Sorry for all the replies, I don't want to miss anyone if the multi quote thing doesn't work propely so I'm only doing one page at a time.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

Since I'm back at running I have changed my diet completely!
Lots of salmon, mackerel, smoked haddock (God bless my fish man!), sushi.
Fresh soups and Innocent fruit smoothies (and fresh smoothies from the smoothie place across the road from Leeds Uni )
lovely lean steak and chicken, lots of steamed veg, jacket spuds, nuts, seeds, fruit and Rachel's organic yoghurt.
I'm avoiding bread at the moment too which always seems to make a big difference!
