I used to have this problem but found Mitchum roll-on, not spray the only thing that works, sorry to sound like an advert. I find you need to give it time to dry , 5 - 10 mins before getting dressed.
  • Hi - another lurker here!
I can recommend Odaban (found out about it from this website)
    https://www.odaban.com

don't use too much, just spray a little onto some cotton wool and dab on at night. I just use it twice a week and the problem has gone.

It is a bit pricey but cheaper than botox - good luck!
  • I used to have this problem but it has got much better lately and even in this intense heat I am not that wet under my arms. I have been washing under my arms with a dilution of bi-carb and water (about 2tsps in a basin of water) and I have also been using a new Deodorant by Dove - its a roll on called Fresh and it is just fantastic!!!! When I stripped off to get in the shower before I sniffed under my arms and there was no smell at all. I also recommended ti to my DD (16) and she has seen an improvement too. But you need to use the roll-on as the spray doesn't work!!

My daughter had the same problem. Our Doctor referred her to the hospital and she was the first person in this area to have botox injections on the NHS. The Consultant told us that sometimes having botox kickstarts the sweat glands into working properly and thats exactly what happened. She had the first lot of injections and was supposed to go back about 9/12 months later for more, but the problem has completely disappeared. That was 2 years ago. So maybe if you can scrape the money together for private treatment you might only need to do it once.

I have a similar problem. I went to my doctor who prescribed me a special roll Anhydrol somethingorother.

Hurts like hell the first time you use it, but it really works. You use it for two days then leave it for two days, and see how you go. It's one you leave on overnight and wash it off in the morning

It's so good, I can get away without deoderant, and just use body spray.

It definately sounds more of a common problem than you would think - I suppose most people try their hardest to hide it.

It also seems to be genitic(sp) my mum suffered with it and I think my daughter will to, (she's 11) when she's a bit older if she does appear to have the same problem I will be taking her down the docs to get her sorted asap - I dont want her to go through the same things I did.

I know someone who had his sweat glands removed and that was done on the nhs. I think you need to go back to your doc - or see another - exhaust all the remedies they suggest and then ask for a referral for the op or the botox. You shouldn't have to be getting 2nd jobs etc - it's not for vanity reasons (not that there's anything wrong if it was - although not on the nhs) It's affecting your day to day life and although it's not the worst thing in the world - I'm sure to you it feels like it at times. It makes my blood boil sometimes when I read what some Doctors say - either through lack of care or ignorance. I know I'm lucky that all the doctors at my practise always make you feel that they are listening and doing everything they can to help.

i have been considering the op as it would save the hassle of remembering to put it on not to shave etc etc also the cost every time. do you find you sweat more from other places?
