    Gosh, what a situation.

I am following this to see what the outcome is. It does look like they have used some of your money, and they are most probably worried now you have asked for a copy of the paperwork.

I just hope you can get this sorted without a big family feud.

And honestly, if it were me - I would want to know. Not to cause an argumnent or try and get money back if they don't have it, but to have it discussed and find out WHY it happened.

Oh - and I would expect an apology.

  • I am really hoping that I have blown all this out of proportion and I have made a mistake somewhere as I really don’t want to think that my mother is (for want of a better word) a thief.

Although the money if there is any would come in very handy at the minute as I’m sure it would for many people, including my parents.

Unfortunately it seems I have come to the point where I need the information that the estate and trustee accounts should show and I can not get this information without asking my mother for them. The strange thing is after asking my dad to get them for me yesterday, by text (mum doesn’t use her phone and I don’t want to ask outright as could say something I don’t want to) I have not had anything from them, not even a message. Perhaps they know they have done something wrong and have now been rumbled? I don’t know only time will tell and I will keep you all up to date.

Thanks for all the help and advice up to now :-)
  • Now that you have shown your hand you should expect this to cause unending trouble between yourself and your family. Possibly a terminal rift, I expect, and I do hope you are prepared for the consequent fall-out. I really don't envy you in the least.

If there is nothing untoward then there would be no reason not to give me something that I am legally entitled to, right?

I have not shown my "hand" no just yet anyway and things have never been the same since we feel out over my little boy who used to go there during the day and we used to pay for mum to have him (although she was at home anyway) anyway off story then by partners mum and friend said they have him but didnt want anything for doing it as they were at home during the day anyway. So to be "fair" I asked if mum still wanted to have him but without being paid but us still supplying everything like we did anyway but she went funny so he now goes to his other grandmothers who by all accounts is worse off them my mother but flat refuses to take any money.

That probably sounds very off but £100 a week is alot of money to us.

SO you can see the type of relationship we have

I would hate to be in your situation. :(
I feel that since they havent replied they are probably in a panic because it will show things they dont want you to see if you know what I mean. Sad though if they have taken it, and from their own kid too.

Guess they want to question you on the phone maybe.. see what your reasons are etc.
Thanks! That was my weigh in on 7th Jan, havent been for my next yet as I fell off the wagon!
I just changed what I ate really and had smaller portions. I wasnt doing any extra exercise although I do a lot of walking now I started work a few weeks ago.
I changed to skimmed milk, flora light margarine, eat logs of veg, weightwatchers malted danish bread (low in cals! so can have 3 and still be less than 2 "normal" slices of other bread lol) Snacks are fruit or low fat yoghurt. No pizza, chips chocolate, sweets, crisps, cut down on cheese. Umm.. thats all I can think of right now lol. Ive gone off track a bit since new year but getting back into it this week. A food diary is good to keep then you know where youre going wrong.
I found it very easy to eat too much without even realising. Ive got a husband who can eat anything and not put on a pound and I was having the same size meals as him but now I know to have less lol. Oh and I limit myself to 2 biscuits a day (boring ones like digestives, rich tea lol). Cinnamon on my weetabix every morning! Apparently cinnamon helps stop the insulin spike that stores fat. Not sure if its true but its nice anyway lol.

He wants to talk...texting is a very difficult way to communicate.

I think you should speak to him one to one tbh. It has to be done sooner or later. You don't have to go into it all, even if you stick to your previous reason.

Would be interesting if there is no record of the paperwork anymore....
