Ive just tried to claim cashback for my phone, but they've emailed back and said that the terms and conditions have been changed from 60 to 30 days, and wont pay my claim because its too late.
Is this allowed, because it was 60 days when I took out the contract and they didn't inform me of the changes.

When did you take out contract?
The conditions changed to 60 days from 30 on 16th Sep 2009 http:// mobiles / cashback.html0 -
I took the contract out in June last year. I was trying to submit my first claim (6 months).0

Sounds like its 30 days thats applicable to your contract and the December bill is what they would have needed. It sounds like you missed the boat unfortunately.
What was the invoice date?0 -

Did your original terms and conditions tell you the cashback dates may change?Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

When they made the change, I am sure I was on here on this site saying why they did not apply the rule change to existing contracts.
So people like you would not fall into this trap of seeing a web page which leads you to believe its 60 days without realising the small font link at top pointing to pre sep 16 t&c (which has 30 days).
Yes customer should know but the web site could be clearer by putting the information about the 60 / 30 days into one sentence.
Probably won't help but you might want to email their rep (who will see this thread in any case) - ben @ mobiles. Have a good moan I say never know.0 -
It states at the top of the pageOur Cashback Terms & Conditions have recently changed in relation to claim periods. This page is for orders placed after 16th September 2009 only.
Please click here to read the terms and conditions if you ordered before this date.
n.b. oh, your not allowed to enter there address :PAlthough no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

It was the Law that changed on the 16th of Sept meaning they had no option but to allow the 60 days to claim.
It wasn't done out of the goodness of their heart which is why they didn't apply the rule to contracts before that dateIt's not just about the money0 -
Hi,
OFCOM's code of practice did indeed come into effect around that date, and of course we moved to comply - however commercially Redemption Cashback is a very complicated beast to operate and for operational reasons we are unable to alter the previously in-effect T&Cs retroactively.
I'm sorry that you did not have a good experience claiming this cashback and I will ask that the T&Cs page is looked at to see if there's anything we can do to clarify the split pre- and post-September.
