I tried to get rid of my daughters dummies with no success. She will be 3 next month so in May while we were on holiday I did the meanest thing possible. It got to the stage when she wouldnt take it to eat her meals and she would took with it in her mouth so I got a pair of scissors and cut the teats off. She saw me do it...but she is so proud because she doesnt have them anymore. The first night she sobbed her eyes out but they are now a long distant memory....the first week was awful but because she saw them broken she knew that I didnt have any spare ones like I did before...hope that helps.

roo's sick at the moment and i'm forever changing his dummies and sterilising them, it's yucky the thought of a dummy when they're ill - ick!
