Just a quick question - anyone managed to get out of an O2 phone contract? My lovely BF is stuck in an O2 contract until Feb next year but as his work is all over the shop at the moment would be so much better to go PAYG....happy to stay with O2, just wanted to know if they'd cancel contract?....assuming they'll slap on a big fee :(

I had no joy with DH's O2 contract, but Vodafone were brilliant with me, wouldn't let me cancel but they dropped my BlackBerry contract right down - and I get to keep the phone and still have unlimited texts! I guess the only way would be for him to speak to them...

    Hi AndyD,

Welcome to the mad house! ;)

I'm doing a DMP with CCCS. Took the plunge end of Jan and sent copy of 1 x payslip and then copies of each of the most recent creditor statements - if they're online only (like some of mine are) print outs from online banking are fine. As long as you include the amount and a/c number etc.

Keep sending token payments (CCCS recommend £1 to each) so you have time to get sorted and explain in the accompanying letter you're with CCCS, and quote your CCCS ref number.

If you haven't done so already, do the Debt Remedy on the CCCS website, you can include all your other priority outgoings (utilities, rent etc.) on there and it'll work out how much you can afford for DMP.

Make sure you get a new bank a/c ASAP and cancel any DDs to creditors and change over an other DDs (that you need to keep). This does take a bit of time but it does need doing!

My first DMP payment goes out on April 10th, with creditors receiving the amount around the 25th, so realistically it takes a good 6-8 weeks to get up and running.

Unfortunately you will get harrassed, some will be nice (Next, MBNA) some will be utter b*****ds! But we're here to help! :D

Hope all that helps, sorry if I've waffled on!

    Keep us posted! x

Thanks True, I thought as much. He's rubbish on the phone and won't turn into a mental person (unlike me!) if he's not getting anywhere!....

:hello::hello:Hi Andy Welcome aboard the raft Wonky Trolley DMP!

True - DD would like to come for tea at yours, her idea of culinary heaven, especially if you put tomato sauce on the pasta. Don't know why I bother sometimes! I was thinking about you wondering where the middle point would be for us all...now if we were to meet up would we all wear hats with spinning martins on:money:or would we carry paddles, footballs and false beards to identify ourselves???

Nat - Going to have to phone bt again, on a different number so can speak to someone uk based. DH thinks we should leave it until the payment from cccs shows up on the account as it hasn't yet.

Hope you had a good meal PDD and your staycation is going well!

Bath time and bed time battle beckons, you'll see how successful I am if I manage to post again tonight!?
