  • If JCP or BDC updated the wrong address it will have filtered through to TCO.

Job Centre Plus is an all encompassing term which covers Job Centres, Contact Centres and the BDC's. So if the OP's slagging off JCP he/she's slagging off the whole shebang.

If Gill's claim form has been sent to the wrong house, it's neither the fault of the Job Centre or the BDC. The fault lies with the call handler at the contact centre for his/her area.

And some of those contact centres use ... contract staff who aren't civil servants. Private sector employees ! You know, the highly efficient individuals who outperform their public sector equivalents in every respect whatever (or so we're reliably told).

Phone the financial adviser at the Job Centre and see what the procedures are if your form goes awol in the post. They might be able to take an old style claim form from you in the circumstances to help speed things along. And if you're strapped for cash, apply for an emergency payment of benefit ... if they can't award that then apply for a crisis loan to tide you over (you'll probably get neither if your run on giro finally arrives though).

busy mom and Nickly this is not the place to slag off fellow colleagues of the DWP. All Jobcentreplus staff (working in the Jobcentre and in the BDC) are and have been under a lot of pressure for a long while now and it is totally unprofessional to express your views in this arena. If you have problems with colleagues in other departments of Jobcentreplus then taking it up with your manager - not on this forum!!

While there a so many who work for the DWP/JCP on here - could you tell me when i will get a cold weather payment? I have been waiting all this time, checking my bank every day (as advised by JCP) and tho and behold NOTHING!!!!! not wanting to appear gready - even just one payment would be appreciated but even better would be the four I'm due....and if I could possibly get the ones owed from last year as well would be great.

This is an anonymous internet forum - why should private individuals not be allowed to express their opinion about their employers and/ or colleagues? The Employment board is full of people doing exactly that!
    Gone ... or have I?

DMG - because each have a biased view of their colleagues - and I speak from experience having worked in both the Jobcentre and in the BDC. I don't think it is a good advertisment for our customers if Jobcentreplus staff are casting aspersions on their colleagues expertise. Unfortunatley the Jobcentre staff and the BDC staff have totally different targets which doesn't help but we are all sopposed to be pulling together for the good of the department, and our customers. Slagging each other off does not help anyone.

It is not incompitent JCP, we do not process claim, all documents are sent to benefit processing centre, you need to take the matter up with then. JCP cannot input to benefit screens so pls do not blame us.
Call your benefit delivery centre tomorow and ask them for an explaination, you can ask for a benefit enqiry appointment at the jobcentre but all they can do is view benefit screens to try to establish why you havent been paid.
Please do not blame us, we get enough blame for BDc as it is. We honestly can try to help but have no power to generate a payment for you.

Oh yes its all the big nasty BDC's fault because obviously the CSD staff would never have looked on CMS or JSAPS or indeed didn't notice that LMS had a different address when the customer attended their first interview - or and lets be controversial here for a moment - did the OP not read the form before he/she signed it at the jobcentre at their interview that would have had the incorrect address on?

Honestly this silo mentality makes me sick. There are plenty of hard working, talented and dedicated people working in all areas of JCP (and yes thats all three directorates) - there are also some rude and occasionally incompetant fools - that would be pretty much the same as every customer service organisation - have a look in the heaven sent and otherwise forum if you want some examples.

Blanket blaming another area of the business for every thing that goes wrong hardly helps the customer or indeed makes nothing work any smoother or things to get any better.

It sounds like an incorrect address was added when the new JSA claim was made and downloaded to the tax credit system - a mistake yes - a mistake made by an individual - probably not intentional - people make mistakes - or is everyone that doesn't work for the government in someway perfect?

This is actually quite serious and internal bickering helps neither the OP nor the organisation for which you work.

To those who work for JCP: I suggest you make clear just how disharmonious the organisation is to your superiors.

To the OP: If you have given JCP your correct details and they have sent post to the wrong address I suggest you complain to your local manager and then escalate to your MP
