I started claiming jsa 29/12/09 . I've telephoned them to see why i have not had a reply and they have advised me that all details of the claim have been sent to me . The problem is they state they run on two systems and the system that sends the mail out has the wrong house number down for me . This house down my road is empty ! So i have received nothing from them . I have requested all details to be sent correctly .
Is this just a coincidence ? I telephoned tax credits because they told me i would be receiving a run off payment because i was ending the claim . This would be sent out in a giro . I have received nothing . I walked past the house today and seen somebody inside so i asked them if they had any mail for me . One letter had been delivered today . The rest has been thrown away !
The letter today is a giro from tax credits , its my run off payment . I have just telephoned them and they cant explain why its gone to a different address as my details have never been changed with them .
Sorry to waffle on , but i find this a bit of a coincidence . Has the jobcentres initial mistake caused ongoing problems . Who can i complain to . They dont seem to think its important that my national insurance and personal details may fall into the wrong hands .:mad:

It is not incompitent JCP, we do not process claim, all documents are sent to benefit processing centre, you need to take the matter up with then. JCP cannot input to benefit screens so pls do not blame us.
Call your benefit delivery centre tomorow and ask them for an explaination, you can ask for a benefit enqiry appointment at the jobcentre but all they can do is view benefit screens to try to establish why you havent been paid.
Please do not blame us, we get enough blame for BDc as it is. We honestly can try to help but have no power to generate a payment for you.0 -
Agreed, BDC are where the problem lies here. BDC annoy me as they make so many mistakes and then we get all the flack for it at JCP.11K Challenge

BDC should be dispanded back into public facing buildings soon see a better service then. I know they are under pressure but so are we, they put the phone down when people get angry we then get them in the office 2x angry to takes twice as long to resolve. :beer:0 -
Could it possibly be the way the address was written......a 6 looking like a zero or something similar?0

Ok, first things first, its a 'run-on' not a run-off, you could at least get the term right if you are going to criticise others.
Secondly, the Jobcentres are not all sunshine and light either, so they can hold back on slagging BDC's.
Thirdly, !!!! happens.0 -
I dont know why there is a them and us attitude between the BDC's and JCP's. Both make mistakes, for example alot of calls have been placed to BDC's regarding cold weather payments.....JCP staff have been telling people that if they are in receipt of ESA (IR) they will definately get CWP's..........erm.....no!! BDC staff then have VERY angry people on the phone who think we are cheating them when in actual fact they are in the assessment phase and do not meet the full criteria and are therefore not entitled to the CWP!!! Or customers calling BDC from the JCP warm phone saying that JCP stafff have told them to call us to autherise them faxing a med cert.......erm.....no!!! That is NOT the procedure, I'm not going to go into procedure here for obvious reasons! I'm sure there are incidents such as above but regarding BDC staff but the sniping between the two on here is totally uncalled for and I.M.H.O very unprofessional!! Rant over, normal service resumed!!Debt free = December 2010...as of March 2006 it is now January 2010..... as of December 2008 it is now December 2009 :j hopefully sooner!!:jDEBT FREE:j January 2012, took longer but I got there, all by myself, through sheer hard work and pride!0

For the record, I dont work for DWP, so its not an internal feud or anything.I dont know why there is a them and us attitude between the BDC's and JCP's. I just know the system and how it works - the JCP can be every bit as bad as a BDC on just as many occasions - the only point I was trying to make.0 -

Hiya NASA, my post wasnt directed at you, or anyone else specifically. I've been reading different posts here over the last few months where it seems to be " them and us" from BOTH depts. It was just my frustration at it, the way I see it staff from both should be making sure they do the correct thing for and say the correct thing to the people who need to use the services provided.:oDebt free = December 2010...as of March 2006 it is now January 2010..... as of December 2008 it is now December 2009 :j hopefully sooner!!:jDEBT FREE:j January 2012, took longer but I got there, all by myself, through sheer hard work and pride!0 -

anyone in any job makes mistakes. If you work at sainsburys you might give someone the wrong change and the till's under. If you work in a florist someone gets the wrong flowers. If you work in anything to do with benefits then someone might get the wrong information or not get the correct money, or even be paid too much money. If you're a doctor and make a mistake someone gets sicker or dies. As NASA says, happens. Just depends on what your job is as to how much your mistake affects someone's life.
angry people always forget that they make mistakes at work too.0 -
The important thing is making sure the mistake is put right - unfortunately something all benefit depts are generally not good at.0
