Tooth fairy leaves £1 in our house regardless of size of tooth.

It's funny but I carry on with the make believe of the tooth fairy and Father Christmas and yet I've never made any secret of the fact that I was the Easter Bunny.Possibly it's because in our house the EB hides eggs in the garden and it's always been a bit more tricky to do this without the kids seeing (can't do it the night before in case they get eaten by animals)

I remember when my first tooth came out and I put it under the pillow as requested for the tooth fairy. However they never came & I was unconsolable. Mum told me to place said tooth again and she would cross her fingers in the night so that the fairy would come back. Fairy came, deposited 50p.

However in the morning, I was thrilled when I came down stiars to show paretns that the tooth fairy had turned tooth into money, and then I saw said tooth in a coin bag on top of the telly.

I knew the fairy didnt exist. I was gutted. My parents however didnt need to lay out any more money for teeth. Good moneysaving for them, but a bit crap for me :rotfl:
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

£1 in the inkie household - although my daughters write a note for the fairy asking to keep the tooth.

We do £2 for the first as it's special and £1 for the rest.....however the tooth fairy only gives money to teeth that have fallen out naturally, not because they've gone bad!

This is because the tooth fairy uses the teeth to put in babies mouths (...I know...I know!!)

The tooth fairy also forgot my little girls tooth one night too (opps), we later found out that my little girl was up all night waiting for the tooth fairy and thats why she didnt come! :) she came the next night

    Abbey Loan £6,000
    Tesco loan £3,000

  • £1 is usual where I am I think, but I know some kids who get £2. I never taught my kid that Santa and the Tooth Fairy were real, but I still did all the usual customs for fun, and my DS decided to believe in them anyway!
I always thought the teeth were for fairy piano keys - never acually heard of them being used to build fairy houses. It was 10p when I was very young, then when 20p coins were introduced, it went up to 20p!

Its also one pound in our house. It should be more really as the tooth fairy is VERY forgetful in our house and once, when youngest lost two teeth a few days apart actually did a 'job lot' visit and did both teeth at once! Surprised this hasn't given them a clue to who she is really :)

We still do the Easter Egg hunt but now my DD joins in. We each have 3 mini eggs to hide and we have to write our own rhyming clues to go with them. We set them the night before and then go on the hunt on Sunday.

Thanks for all of the replies.

The tooth came out yesterday and I cut red heart out of glittery paper and stuck a pound coin onto that and put it under his pillow. A tooth wobble check shows that I'd better start saving as I think there are a few more due to come out in the next week or so.
