Boom and bust............

    The eternal cycle.

Even Manure couldn't pull off the impossible. ;)

    What what a witless comment.

Do you ever go to Old Trafford?

I follow my local team. Still a community club. ;)

Currently struggling to survive in the Championship. :(

Though today another Premiership scalp.

Hoping for one of the big boys still in the Cup. :rotfl:

I think the thing to remember longer term about Man Utd is that they have a solid business holding up a rancid financial structure. If they fail to qualify for the 'Champions' League then presumably the decline will be rapid, in the manner of Leeds.

Nobody's going to buy the club with £700,000,000 of debt attached to it. Better wait for them to go bust and buy them for £300-400,000,000 or even less if they've been relegated.

However, if this happens Man Utd still continue to exist and can be rebuilt under a better financial structure.

Personally, I think this shows the best and worst of capitalism.

I wonder if the buttons in the Phoenix fund will be enough icon7.gif

  • The big problems for the EPL clubs will be when the sky deal comes up for renewal in 2011.

If sky offer them less than the current deal, then all these clubs who bank on future tv money will be in deep !!!!.

Portsmouth may not be the only premiership club who'll end up going bust.
