I have to say that having had a scare earlier this year ( luckily false) I think everyone should have a detector. I will not be applying for this as I already have one and believe it would be wrong to apply for another one just because it is free.
If you fail to get a free one please rememebr that although they cost about £30 this is certainly well worth every penny if it saves a life!!
Also check out if your local fire service does free smoke detectors. our local one does. All you have to do is ring them and they come and do a fire safety check and fit a smoke detector if you need one.The £2 Coin Savers Club = £96.00 joined 25/05/06
