Seriously though, I signed up with the Telephone Preference Service because I got so outraged about cold calls. I don't get any now. Check out the website www.tpsonline.org.uk

I use various excuses...I'm not the home owner , my (ex)husband fits double glazing, I've just suffered a bereavement! But the best one...especially when you're in a shop and they try and sign you up for a storecard....is to tell them you're on a credit blacklist! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Less is more0

Well I'm back with my report on fobbing off these sales people.
We have tried all the above methods of getting rid of them
talking to god didn't work he just laughed and told the person sat next to him!!
asking a favourite sexual position didn't work he actually told me!
Any other suggestions?

My favourite line to give them is a quote from Family Guy let them waffle a bit and say "Enough of the foreplay, what you selling?" usually go quiet:A :shocked: :A0

If I'm approached in shopping centres by Sky or kitchens etc, I sometimes say I live in a caravan. That ends the conversation.Justice for the 96 YNWA

Why bother getting into a conversation at all? If you don't feel able to say 'no thanks' and then hang up just put the handset down - don't hang up, but certainly don't listen. They won't hang on if no-one's responding. It's in their interest to make as many calls as possible so they'll soon hang up and you don't have to listen to their spiel or feel like you have to be rude.
I don't know why people don't just join the TPS. I don't get cold calls at all. Imagine if everyone was signed up to the TPS! A whole industry gone, just like that. Still, I guess it keeps people in employment...."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
