Think yourself lucky my proposal was this

"my mum said now we are living together i should buy you a ring, do you want one!!!"

It was ten years later that we actually married!!!!

My dad's proposal to my mum was.

They were out in country going for a walk ( dad lived in merston a little village in middle of no where, with nothing but fields around , well was 35 odd years ago, lol) he said to mum. i got some spare money i been saving. i could buy u a ring with it , if you want. Ah the romantic at heart, lol. Must of been love at first sight mum met my dad couple of times, then one day while driving through town she saw him and crashed her car watching him.lol.

As for my engagement, hubby doens't like centre of attention or anything. It was my birthday and i was opening all my pressies ( in the lounge at his parents with his family their )and came to this little box . opened it and it was the most gorgeous diamond cluster ring. i felt myself go red , unsure of what it meant. but he said nothing so i put it on my right hand. i was gobsmacked. anyway a few mins later his parents said why don't you guys go out while we sort dinner. so we went off down beach. while sat in car getting sorted hubby asked me. he was meant to at his parents but got embaressed. I was beaming ear to ear. came back to his parents who had put champagne in fridge because they said when they saw the ring they thought hubby was gonna say something. We got engaged 4 months after meeting then got married 10 months after that. that was 8 years ago this year and i love it. being married is the best thing ever. It isn't just a piece of paper and i feel sorry for those who think it is. it is wonderful and amazing . and yes can feel embarassed when he's asking or your asking.but for those 5 mins of red facedness, the happieness for the rest of your life time is more than worth it.
