Hi, thanks for your replies. I will try my MP on Monday - not sure who it is or anything but hey ho, worth a try.
I thought that about the whole being lost situation. I contacted the passport office yesterday and they said I will have to state that it is lost, they didnt say I couldnt do it so hopefully it will be ok.
Cant even look forward to this holiday now. I suppose theres loads of people worst off than me though isnt there?!0 -

If you google "find my mp" it will bring up the Parliament website - just put your details in & "hey presto" you'll get all the contact info you'll need.
As You say its worth a try - apparently MP's have a special TCO tel number that they can call !! lets face it keeping somebody's passport for weeks isn't reasonable (what if you need it in an emergency or for work purposes ?) Surely they could have just photo copied it and then posted it back by return.0 -
Thanks, I done this before and have already had 2 phonecalls from my local counsillors who have passed it onto the MP. Lets hope it gets sorted ASAP! Isn't it ridiculous of them to think they can just withold someones most important piece of ID for as long as they want! :mad:0

YAY!! I could have just kissed my postman when he delivered my passport just now. Basically, I contacted my MP last week and all of a sudden my passport magically reappears!!!!
I am so made up because I have an appointment with the passport office for a new one today so I have saved myself a lot of dosh and inconvenience.
A big thanks to those who suggested contacting my MP, and those who supported me in this matter.
If you are waiting for your passport to come back just email your MP and hopefully you will get yours back soon.
