a common name...'tis true.....
....but errr....nope....dont think I have an Uncle Jack - on either side of the family...
Now - if someone were to tell me that I have a lot of "hard-headed/very practical" type dead relatives - then we'd be talking....yep...that WOULD be my family we are on about....
Did your mother maybe have a friend, or a friends husband, who you regarded as an uncle, who's name was Jack?
It can be twisted and turned so far around. Its how they do it, these so called 'mediums'...You lied to me Edward. There IS a Swansea. And other places.....
*I have done reading too*
*I have done geography as well*0 -
They usually say something like an uncle Jack or John or william, and if not then something with that initial, she used the John 1 on me who lived to a right old age yet there has never been a John in either side of my family
To that other poster i don't care if some of them pay tax, What they are doing is sick and there money is sick the way they earn it. If they really have a gift they should be using that gift to help people not make money from some people who are pretty poor. 0 -
Thats true. People should not lie and say they are a medium and "play on" people - when they know very well they arent any such thing. Totally agree - thats wrong.
I have a few (very few) "inklings" sometimes myself about things - but there is no way I would dream of charging for anything I might say (or even usually mentioning it) - as its very rare and I simply dont think its moral to try and turn a few odd "glimmerings" into a fully-fledged job. There must (mustnt there?) be many people who get those odd few "glimmerings" - so no big deal....0 -

I think those 'glimmerings' are probably caused by intuition. We're ALL intuitive to some degree. You lied to me Edward. There IS a Swansea. And other places.....

Hey yeah I was going to post again, Was just reading over all the comments, I wasn't ripped off, I went knowing that this woman was a fraud and after hearing everyone say how good and accurate she was I decided to go myself, I have read up on all the articles about cold reading and the James randi thing over the past few months, and knew that most mediums are fakes. I think someone hit the nail clean on the head a few points up where they said that people will hear things and in there brain make themselves believe it whatever the medium is telling the subject. What I done was to this medium was used reverse psycholgyon her, When I phoned her up I had said to her I had the day off work ( I am currently not working and due to start back in a few days) I wore smart clothes and drove a friends fancy car to her place, She was telling me the dead person she was supposedly talking to was telling her my job in an office was going very well, (I've never worked in a office in my life) She also got near enough everything else wrong, apart from a few things correct, I don't feel ripped off, It's other people I hate seeing ripped off,
I do believe there is something else after this life, I have saw some strange things myself, I do hate these scam artists though who con people out of there cash which a lot of mediums do,
you ask how you lied? see above. highlighted in red. and even then you say 'you dont feel ripped off'
so what exactly are you complaining about?0 -
As I said before, there are good mediums and outright charlatans. the best way to find good mediums is to ask the local spiritualist church. not to go through ads.0

I didn't lie, The woman who was doing the reading and getting my £30 was the 1 who was lying, She was telling me a pile of lies while PRETENDING to talk to a dead person. What sort of sick person would do something like that? I know she was lying because near enough EVERYTHING she said to me was all wrong, She got the colour of my dog correct, and a couple of other things, But i can bet if i were to guess some things about you I would get a few correct also. I give her signals when she was wrong to let her think she was correct and even more lies came out of her mouth.
If these supposed good mediums you know are so good why have they never went to prove that what they do and get themselves a million quid? As derren Brown proved before from people he knew nothing about and got about 96% of facts correct about them, Now i think he has came out and said he is not a medium but his subjects all thought he was great

I went to a medium years ago, I only knew about her because of an aquaintance (the aquaintance didn't even know my name) used her regularly.
I told the medium nothing, I also gave no reaction when she spoke to me...I really did not want to give anything away. No one had died, I just went because I was curious. I was going to court and was going through a very messy divorce at the time. She told me this straight away. She also told me that I had lots of children (I have 6)...she also told me that I have one son (who was moody)....right again....he was only 6 at the time.
She told me my husbands name...David Peter...in the right order...(spooky).
She told me she could see an old person with their hand twisted up near their face..kind of distorted. I told her I knew nothing of this...she said she saw it and could not change what she saw....a year later my Dad died...It wasn't until a year after he passed away that my Mum told me when he died he had his hand twisted up by his face. I suppose you could call all these things coincidence........There were also lots more things she told me that she COULD NOT have known.:eek:0 -

griff - you say you didnt lie - but if you read back where i have highlighted - you did.
you misled the medium, you lied, you cheated, yet you expected an accurate reading.
you dont understand hun, if you confirm what the medium says if they have it wrong, then they may be misinterpreting the message and you wont get the real monty. hoist with your own petard hun!
as for james randi - no-one will ever get the million, as he is sole judge and jury, and no-one of any repute in the paraspychology world takes him seriously. you obviously havent done enough research!
if you really approached a reading with an open mind, you would answer either yes, no or i dont understand that. most mediums prefer that. the genuine ones dont like you volunteering information. a few sessions in spiritualist church will confirm that.
instead, you decided that all mediums were fakes, read james randi and armed yourself (you think) with knowledge. and went to reading and lied, misled the medium and are now congratulating yourself on being right!
hmmmm
I could go to a doctor and say, i got a tummy ache whats wrong and after asking a series of questions - to which i lie, the doc says - its appendicitis. on which i walk out and call him a quack. ive got asthma!
extreme? maybe, but you are tarring all mediums with the same brush, and calling my religion into disrepute.
by the way, I have seen people who arent here anymore, am told I am a talented tarot reader, and am a reiki master practioner, have spent over 40 years studying the paranormal, human pscychology, and healing arts. and it only took you a few months to conclude we are all charlatans!
didnt take me that long to conclude that shakespeare had it right 'there are more things in heaven and earth horatio.............'0 -
actually it'sw not one man, it's the James Randi Educational FOundation. Lots of scientists and sceptics. But the rules look reasonable to me. And sometimes the person who designs the test is the person who claims the special ability.
Looks fair to me. But then I don't believe in god, fairies or ghosts.Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0
