I feel totally in a rut with my career and it is because of the circumstances that I have been in over the years.
For those who dont know this is how my life has panned out......
Age 15 meet OH and buy a house at 19 after dropping out of catering college, took to working part time in pub and one day a week doing office work.
Age 21 and 23 have 2 beautiful boys, whome I love and cherish but I have a yearning for a career so my office work which now is gearing towards accounts has offered to pay for my accountancy quals but only get to level 3 (Alevel).
Fastforward to 1999 when I am offered PT teaching course and commence teacher training (in fe) achieve Cert Ed and Dip Ed (which is now a foundation degree)
I am now teaching full time and am part of the teacher training mentor programme but ironically the teachers who I am training reach the end of their course with more qualifications than I have.
I have been to a mentor meeting tonight at the university and have been asked to do some guest speaking on teaching and learning, which I am going to turn down as to be honest I feel like a fake and a phoney (sp):o
So in a nutshell, I almost have a degree in teaching and my specialist subject but have neither and I would love to go down the route of teacher training full time............
I never make anything easy do I....But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
