    Paint the handle with varnish. It will take him ages to get it off.
  • I Would be locking the door otherwise they will think it's ok to do after you have moved in!

  • I think I would get on with the job and chat at the same time, just ignore his advice and do it your own way, act like you havnet heard him he will soon get the message.
    If he wants to help let him, ask him to go make a brew, or send him upstairs/down to do a job out of your way.
    I like the idea of music so you cant hear him. Maybe take a friend with you so he will realise you have company, as he might think you need company. Or put a sign on the door as you go in " dangerous job, do not disturb!". Have you got any sanding or drilling you could do to drown out the noise of the door, and put windowleene on the windows so he cant see in!
