Hi missmental. Thanks for the kind words. Good luck with your debt free journey.
Keeping a diary really does cut down on the amount I spend ( I have had a few off days so far though!). We've reverted to spending in Sainsbury's for a few weeks since we got some vouchers for £12 off a £60 shop, which ends up being a bit expensive a week but I figure if we stock up on some items this month we wont need to buy so much a few months down the line. Soon enough we'll be back at Lidl's and Aldi's for things!
Best of luck with your PPI claim.
I've just checked the Royal mail site again and it seems the copy of the first letter has been received by Lloyds. Hopefully we will have positive responses from them.

Experian stuff received today. Looked good. Applied for a new low LOTB card, and got rejected. Made a note to try again in 6 months time.
Additionally need to find £300 ish from somewhere to make some payments!

Also sadly because I have recently updated my mobile contract, have applied for the Santander card and now this other card, and only have been our place for a few months my credit score is probably now average. Definitely no low APR credit for me for a while.

I'm hoping my tax rebate will come soon - if not I'll have to call them. Additionally I hope to hear about the PPI issue at some point in the next month or so...or at least something!

Starting to get discouraged by the long road ahead, but have noticed a number of changes - when I see that something needs to get done nowadays I don't tend to put it off, and I am probably more active than before.

Unfortunately had an unexpected bill through the other day (only partially something to do with us) that we had to pay. Rather than argue about it now I've paid it off and will chase the funds myself within the next few weeks. Fingers crossed I will get it, elsewise notch it up to the learning curve. Better that than my credit rating being hit even moreso.

Council claims they don't do payments over 12 months so I guess I can do little about the high council tax atm. We'll just have to pay it somehow. So it looks like we will be short by £20 a month. Not sure how I will cover this. Hoping for a pay rise at work, but it may not come until September/ October time, if at all. Unfortunately I can't cut back any further than I have been so it means I'll need another way to earn money.

Some good news today. I want to work out all the finer points before I post properly about it. All looks positive so far!

Current debts as of April 2010:

    Description....................Debt......Limit.... .APR
    Lloyds Advance CC..............7400......9000......20
    Halifax CC.....................6700......7000......6.9
    Loan...........................5300...............7.95
    Barclaycard CC.................1880......2100......6.9
    OD.............................1000................0

    Total unsecured debts..........22280

OD is interest free for 12 months.

The good news was that my Halifax had given me 6.9% for LOTB BTs, which I carried out yesterday!
Have shifted stuff around a bit, and although not much of a change from last month should make paying the minimums on some of these a lot easier, so that I can concentrate more on the heavy debt with heavy APR.
Waiting for a cheque from the tax office which can go toward the debt!
Had to use the old Lloyds card last month, and have paid it off again. Fingers crossed this will actually all work out properly. March/ early April were expensive months. I have restarted a diary and will be using it daily.
The loan payment hasn't gone out yet for this month, and a few of these others will change during the month so I will technically have less debt before the month is over.
I may actually start having a spare £5 (to go toward debt) every month after all!

I can possibly get some deals on the Lloyds cards (0% for 9 months) but the problem is moving the debt about - ultimately it may not be worth it - may try and see if I can get a low LOTB thing with them later on in the month/ next month.

Bunch of info received from Lloyds the other day re SAR. 90% of it useless. Need to get onto them again. grrrr. They have until May 8th.

Still waiting for the cheque from the taxman.

Looks like it'll take me 5 years to pay this all off!

Current debts as of May 2010:

    Description....................Debt......Limit.... .APR
    Lloyds Advance CC..............6400......9000......20
    Halifax CC.....................7700......8000......6.9

    Total unsecured debts..........22050

OD is interest free for 12 months (til late this year).

Advance card only one paid so far this month so most of these are set to go down. This was a success story actually as Halifax increased my limit allowing me to still catch the 6.95% LOTB offer that they had!

Still waiting on the tax rebate which I am hoping will come in the next few weeks. This will go toward paying off the Advance card a bit more. Still have the gas, electric, water, and council tax to pay this month, but hopefully this can be dealt with by next week.
Still dealing with the PPI but I don't expect anything from that for a while.
All in all, based on minimum payments alone I now should have a spare £15 a month to go toward the Advance card.
My DFD has now been bought forward a year to November 2014!!!

Also just noticed by the end of the month I will owe less than 22K!!!

Looks like the Lloyds was slightly higher than I thought it would be last month, as the payment I wanted to make on it could not be made! I'll have to look for an alternative way to deal with it.

On the plus side the other Lloyds card has not been touched and all the big bills were paid last month (including 2 lots of fuel bills for a 6 month period) not using a credit card.
Will have a payment to come out for something today but at the moment I have no idea of the cost. I'll have a better idea about how tight this month will be later today!
