Well when took our son to Alton Towers, using Tesco Vouchers of course, we stayed in a travel-lodge....took our own beer and nibbles to have that night in our room.

Next morning we went to the little chef for breakfast and the girl forgot to give me my discount. So she had to ring it all up again but when I looked at the bill I noticed she hadn't charged for hubby's full breakfast!

Thought it was abit cheap as well!

    RE: recycled food

I once came home drunk with a portion of chips I left on the side in the kitchen and ate the rest of them for breakfast the next morning.

I did have a friend who used to go bin-raiding in M & S food bins- I'm not sure I could do it myself but he used to come back with loads of stuff like cream cakes still in the packaging, and still within the BB date.

We did our tightest things only a couple of weeks ago. We went to a family wedding we really didn't want to go to. As it was a 2nd time round marriage the couple got married and then had a blessing here in england late in the day so there was just an evening do, very little expense for them but loads of pressies. So we didn't buy a gift or card and when they noticed there wasn't anything there we decided if they ever asked we would just claim it had been lost. I know this is really bad but we had been up since 6am doing a carbot with a 5 and 3 year old, the carboot was dead and we were frozen so given them our hard earned money felt awful and we desperatley didn't want to go to the reception anyway.

I had run out of toilet roll at home a couple of weeks ago and was totally broke, so I took four rolls home with me from work. Thankfully, Sainsburys are doing 1/2 price on Nouvelle 87p for four rolls at the moment, so I am stocking up big time:rolleyes:

asda's smart price is 12 rolls for 1.14 , they last us (3 adults about a week)

went to a friends wedding in posh hotel whole day affair, mum came to evening do so i got her to bring an extra 'present' (bottle bag with cheapest dirtiest vodka inside) which stayed under our table for the night, not so tight as i did share but still hammered to the point of a lost favourite shoe in taxi on way home - perhaps a half bottle next time!
